If you ask them to hold the msg or sugar, or use less oil, they will accommodate you. I think this place has probably the best garlic sauce in the area. I ordered Kung pao chicken and I appreciated how they chopped the veggies small and shredded the chicken. Nothing worse than big chunks of meat. The general tso's had a nice smoky flavor. Garlic sauce was good. The only criticism was the egg roll, which did not have enough filling. I would pay more if they filled it up more.

I have been eating at China Taste regularly (at least monthly) for more than 20 years, but today was the last time. Maybe it's like a lot of other break-ups: It's not you; it's me. We started taking each other for granted. Sometimes I'd show up wearing sweatpants ... But whatever the reason, it's over. We'll always have the memories... Honestly, the food has always been middling, with the quality declining as the day grew later (e.g., don't order General Tso Chicken after 8 PM unless you like it REALLY hard). But for years China Taste was dependable and affordable; within walking distance and good enough in a pinch. Then the small indignities started piling on: They stopped making minor substitutions to combination meals--and started adding surcharges for debit/credit card purchases because of a "business tax." Portions have gotten just a teeeeny bit smaller over time. No "free" can of soda for orders over a certain dollar amount. Fortune cookies by demand only. Sometimes they get the order wrong... Nothing earth-shattering, merely sorta unpleasant. Finally, it dawned on me as I walked away for the last time that a "just okay" meal for two at my go-to cheap Chinese takeaway cost more than $40--and in in that price range, I have other, better options. I have no doubt China Taste will survive without me. But I'd still be a customer if they occasionally didn't act like my business didn't matter.

Just found this little hidden gem! The chicken lomain, shrimp fried rice and sweet n sour chicken was PERFECTION!!!!!! Will be coming back tomorrow! Food was made fresh and cooked to perfection! Thank you!!!!

Their food is great and no doubt one of the best Chinese food places in Bergen County. I've been a loyal customer for years and order on a weekly basis, however when I was eating my shrimp and broccoli today there was a long black hair in my food :(. As soon as I felt it in my mouth I assumed it was mine and it just fell into my food by accident but when I pulled it out it was a long STRAIGHT hair. My hair is short and curly so I knew it had to be from an employee. I'm super disappointed since this was one of my favorite food spots but honestly this makes me never wanna eat there again.

Terrible customer service. The wife placed an order for pick up. Upon arrival, I paid for the order, and before leaving, I asked if a drink should be included. The cashier said, "No drink, come with the order." Took 10 minutes to get home. My wife asked where the drink was, so I called the restaurant to complain. Guy, who answered the phone, said they can't credit me for the drink as it was part of the meal even though it was their fault. After complaining about how irresponsible they are, he also said they don't care if we order from them again.Since they refused to credit my credit card for the drink because it was part of the combo. I said I would bring the meal back for a full refund. I took 1 meal back for a refund. If you ordered the shrimp broccoli during that time, you may have gotten my meal since they didn't dispose of it.
In the mood for some Chinese take out and ordered some staples to compare. Ordered from their lunch menu so the portions are relatively smaller. Price was fair. The lunch menu are not the typical "combo" of egg rolls and soda and there was also no "coupons" so if you are looking for a deal - this is strictly just for food. The shrimp and garlic sauce over fried rice was decent flavored and had a generous amount of 4 large shrimp so very proportionate to their vegetables. The general tsaos tasted like utilized their "sweet and sour chicken" and added the sauce to make it general tsao (typical for most places to pre fry their mest for both dishes but this had a sweet and sour flavor instead of general tsao. Their beef chow fun sizing is size "small" that could use a little more seasoning like salt. For a Chinese take out place; it's about average what you get around the Leonia area. I'll go with the shrimp and garlic sauce as their better dishes out of the 3.

We have been here a couple of times, so far we like the food and good to come back.My regular go to is Chicken with Broccoli dish. If a Chinese take out store can't make a good one, I usually see if it's a hit or a miss. This was my second time ordering, there is a good amount in the quart size.This time we had Sesame Tofu and General Tso's Chicken. Both dishes were so good, I should have ordered a General Tso's Chicken. I'm a little sensitive on salt content, the entire order was not heavy on salt and it made me like China Taste more.My husband ordered a quart of Wonton Eggdrop Soup, he likes it too and it's not heavy on the cornstarch taste often can be in the soup.I only took a picture of my Chicken with Broccoli dish, everything else was eaten so quickly, whoops?The kitchen had two chefs, please be patient when you pick up your order. Staff is friendly, parking is available outside, all cash and credit cards are accepted.We will be back soon.
