Soy marinated raw crab. Aka ganjang-gyejang. This one dish makes visit to this restaurant totally worth it. I haven’t had this dish executed at this level outside of Korea. As of May, Kaya is claiming they are using the imported crab from Korea’s Western Sea and I’m totally convinced. Crabs were meaty and flavorful; you can tell these crabs are different from the Maryland’s.This dish comes with tobiko-rice. You squeeze the crab meat and add a spoonful of the extremely flavorful soy sauce to this special rice and you’re in heaven.Side dishes are one of the better ones in NJ. Nothing fancy, but their banchan are very authentic. That acorn jelly, aka dotori-muk, was so perfect.Waitstaffs were not very attentive. Service wasn’t the best. But I couldn’t care less when I had the best soy-marinated raw crab outside of Korea. I’m already planning my 2nd strip next week.

If you don’t mind about bad service, you can go and get one of the best authentic Korean food I would say. This makes me sad to give this place 3 stars but I have to warn people before coming to this place that if you’re not speaking Korean you’ll be treated differently. I’ve been here couple times and the food always super good and the service was so so, but this time the service left me with a terrible experience everyone forgot to put smile on their faces and can you imagine when the restaurant close at 10.00 pm. and I was going to order more food at 9.10 pm they told me that the kitchen closed already with attitude and they do last call at 9.00 pm which is 1 hour before closing time??? What? I don’t mind what time the last call is but I do mind when no one does the last call at my table and this was bad. That’s why I’m giving this place 3 stars and I don’t think I’ll coming back again.

The staff was super friendly and food came out quick. I've been wanting to try soy marinated crab for a long time and I finally got to here! It was fresh and i will definitely be trying it more now

Portions are good and tasty. This restaurant became our favorite Korean Restaurant. There are ample street parking spaces in front of store. Sengtaetang and squid dolsot are great along with banchan.

Business hours close at 10 o'clock, but the waitress came and said that it was unbearable because it was raining and there were no customers for them, so they gave me the bill at 9:30 and said that they were going to leave work early.When I complained that they were closing the door, they turned off the music and apologized...goodbye.This is my first time in a restaurant like this in 20 years of living in the United States.Gaya Restaurant owner, please train your employees well..So there are no customers.
