The mango avocado roll and broccoli with garlic sauce was so good! However, my friend got food poisoning from the yellowtail.

My in laws have been getting sushi from here for years. My husband and I love the food here. Sushi is delicious and the service is always friendly and fast. They have the best spicy yellowtail roll I’ve ever had!

The food was delicious. ?We enjoyed our rolls, particularly the sweet potato rolls. The owner was super friendly. It was a simple, nice and quiet dining experience. We will return when in the area.

It’s really hard for me to post this because I really like the taste of the food, it just gets cold very quickly. I asked them a few times to warm up the plate but it doesn’t really seem to work. I would send the food back sometimes to get it reheated, but it doesn’t make too much of a difference. You would think that a restaurant that has such delicious food could actually keep it warmer a bit longer or have the ability to give you a warm plate.

Bit pricey, but i disagree with others about quality of the sushi/sashimi — I’ve been in upscale sushi joints with smelly fish. This place has smooth flavored sushi and no smell. It is good for a date night or work lunch.

The service was fast efficient and friendly. The ambiance was off because of the television that was broadcast 24 hour cable news. There were three chefs rolling sushi so our order of 5 rolls and 6 piece of sashimi came out in about 20 minutes. Not the most delicious or beautiful sushi I’ve eaten but a solid place I would come back to if I was in the neighborhood.

This is how much of wasabi they served with 3 orders of rolls. Ruined my entire take out dinner experience. Nothing I could do after getting home

Good sushi, great service and BYOB = a very good combination.I want to emphasize the BYOB as I actually had to scroll through a lot of reviews to find this, so hopefully this floats towards the top to more easily find. Also, very very kid friendly, which is a huge plus for families with little ones. Kids need to eat of the regular menu (no kids menu) but extra attention given to them and a lot of patience with smiles when utensils start dropping and need replacement.

Good location, decent restaurant, but average sushi. It was our first visit and we were hoping for better.

We visited Dozo Sushi this afternoon for some good sushi. If you're looking for delectable sushi that is bursting with flavor, this is the right place! It's quite a nice atmosphere upon entering. The employees are friendly and welcoming. Menus are pretty easy to navigate - even if you don't go out for sushi often. I ordered the Rock n' Roll sushi. It was delicious, and the plate looked fabulous! The sushi plate was presented in a way that would likely impress a patron who regularly frequents 5-star restaurants. The food presentation along with the rich flavors and pleasant service make this a perfect place to get Asian cuisine! This was a great location for a pleasant afternoon meal.

Only recently I've started to try different eateries in Livingston. I'm from the area, but kind of slept on what's around town here. Last week, we went to Dozo for dinner during work week (it was also partly a celebration/treat-yo-self meal together). Our one favorite local sushi spots never quite returned to dine-in service after the pandemic, so we've been looking for a replacement. Dozo is a strong contender. Sushi was great. My vegetarian husband ordered AAC Roll, Sweet Potato Roll, Peanut Avocado Roll, and one of the specialty rolls - an Evergreen Roll. He was happy. I, because it's a new spot, went with a standard to try it out, so I ordered a Sushi Deluxe. Very good. Before our entrees, we got Age Tofu and Vegetarian Gyoza for appetizers. Pretty good. We didn't order this, but we saw that they have desserts as well as Ramune, which was cool to see on the menu. Kids love those Japanese sodas. (Who am I kidding? I love them and I'm a grown adult!) Dozo has friendly service, too. In short, we're fans, for sure. Recommended without hesitation!
