The place was empty at our reservation time. Place has a nice bar and adequate seating throughout restaurant and many outdoor seats during the warmer months. There were only two employees working - a bartender and server. Service was slow but they gave a discount on the bill which was nice. Overall food was good and we will try again during the summer.

The chicken was good! Juicy & well cooked. The sauce on it was okay. The hot honey flatbread was way too soggy, I couldn't hold it; way too much meat. My bf really enjoyed his short rib & octopus appetizer. Otherwise tasty enough. I can see it being a good vibe in the summer.

Our experience at Maya's was exceptional! Our server for 2 nights in a row was Labeat. He was wonderful! Labeat was very kind, sociable and right on top of things. He surely is an asset to this restaurant. The food was amazing as well.

The good first: Waiter and Bartender were good.Atmosphere: Modern, airy and open floor plan, plenty of room between tables. Beach views must be great when it's light outside, but there's not much going on inside.Food: Not good and we were the only table all night, so it wasn't that the kitchen was overwhelmed.Appetizer: Flatbread pizza came out with the crust burned around the edges. It was OK otherwise, but not very flavorful.Dinners: These were hit and miss.Salmon and lamb chop entrees were great. Short rib was way over-seasoned and neither person finished it.The Eggplant was absolutely awful. It was four or five very small, very thin slices with a few dollops of hummus. It was so overcooked, they were just dried out, burned, and they crunched when you bit into them. I'd have sent it back, but it had taken a very long time for the dinners to come out and we simply didn't want to wait; I'm amazed the kitchen sent it out instead of redoing it.Desserts: The Gelato and panna cotta desserts were very good. Olive oil cake was stale.Cost: (Four of our group had two drinks each and a dessert, while the others had soft drinks and no dessert.) Total for seven of us, including tax and tip, was just over $80/person, but no one ordered the most expensive entrees.Overall experience: Very disappointing. This restaurant has a phenomenal location and decent atmosphere, but the kitchen's execution was really lacking. Unfortunately, at those prices, they won't get a second chance.Parking: Parking choices: Pay $20 for the garage across the street, park in the free, muddy, pothole-filled gravel lot next door, or walk down from the hourly spots in Pier Village (not great in the rain)

Overall, an absolutely lovely experience at Maya. Across the board this establishment left us elated. The service was perfect, each staff member was on top of everything. The menu was incredibly creative. Hats off to the Chef and Sous Chef. Presentation of the plates were top notch. And the quality and taste was over the moon. Each bite got better and better. The octopus is the best I have come across, by far. The liquor and wine choices were not only excellent, but the house cocktails were mixology at its finest. The ambiance and warmth the restaurant holds, was my favorite. A laid back, yet elegant and romantic feel. Don't miss out on this experience. Maya made a beautiful first impression and we will surely be back.

They skipped over a portion of the dinner and once the dinner was over said that the new years eve party was private and that we needed a room key to get up there.. I will never go back because of the false advertisement

New Year tasting menu was not well thought out, both the regular and vegetarian prefix dishes were well presented but lacked flavors, authenticity to any cuisine. Except the desert course everything was just put together not "Paired". Loved the staff, service and overall idea of New Year Prefix but execution failed very badly.

Find another restaurant in Pier Village or go hungry. This dinner was an expensive fail at almost $80/person We had seven guests and we were the only table in the entire restaurant. The waiter and bartender were fine and did their jobs. Everything else was a disaster. Three meals were good (2 salmon and a lamb chop). Two meals (short ribs) were so over-seasoned the guests barely touched them. The last two were the Eggplant and these were burnt to a crisp (and not just a little overdone). These should not have been served. This was a birthday dinner and we didn't want to send the meals back or make a fuss in front of our daughter, but those Eggplant dinners really should have been redone. The gelato and the panna cotta were delicious. The Olive Oil cake was stale.

The Christmas Day buffet was amazing! There was a large variety of food including prime rib, seafood, chicken, ham, pasta and sides. Everything was delicious and service was great. You won't regret eating here

Best octopus ever! Lamb shank, delicious and practically fell off the bone. Salmon cooked perfect. Everything, including our server was perfect. Next trip to Long Branch we will definitely have dinner and a brunch at Maya.

The setting on the boardwalk in Long Branch is beautiful and the restaurant itself is very comfortable with a nice long bar. The staff are all very nice and accommodating. We never had to wait for a refill. The food was very good - pizza, chicken, meatballs. And the live music was excellent, as good or better than what you would hear in Asbury.

Expensive bad service and I feel like racism I prefer to leave.

The server was lovely - pleasant and friendly. We ordered wine and waited quite a while ... our apps came before the wine. (The restaurant was not crowded.) the food was good. My steak was over cooked based on how I ordered it. Tuna crudo was very good. The dessert orange, gentle flavor, panna cotta with granola was delicious. It was worth the $40.23 because it was restaurant week - regular pricing I would not pay.

The round table we had was excellent for conversation. The lighting was good too. all 5 of us enjoyed our meals. Food pricing was reasonable, it was Restaurant Week. Interesting that draft beer was not available. A glass of wine was beyond my budget. Nevertheless I definitely recommend MAYA.
