Solid takeout experience Called in to place the order and my wife picked it up.Didn't double check the bag (which is a must everywhere) and we received the wrong item Egg rolls are better than averageEgg drop Wonton mix was below par, broth was very thin and the Wontons were tinyThe Szechuan triple delight was good, shrimp were flavorful and fresh. I asked for extra spicy and it was not.I ordered chow fun with the wide noodle and received the think noodles, it was ok and again not what I ordered. Order was ready on time.Takeout only, no seating. Chinese takeout is very tough in this area, we lost our favorite in Monmouth beach.....the search continues.

The staff was always kind and helpful. The food was always delicious. It's unfortunate that the store was always closed whenever I called.

I would have given it 5 stars because the food is very good. tonight I ordered food and bourbon chicken was one of the entrees I ordered. I received boneless spare ribs instead. I called and they had to call me back. About 20 minutes later I received a phone call. I spoke to 3 different people. The last person said he would check. "He said," no, it is bourbon chicken." At any rate we went though the chicken in my plate being pork and the sauce being barbecue sauce. He said again this is the bourbon chicken. I have had the bourbon chicken before and this certain isn't is. After that I just said it wasn't worth it. Although the food is good I may opt to go somewhere else.

To say I love Hop Shing is an understatement. I have never been disappointed. If you are looking for a delicious comfort meal, Hop Shing is your best bet no doubt! Some of my regularly ordered items include: beef lo mein, crab Rangoon, sweet & sour chicken (I ask for well done), shrimp in scallion sauce, and occasionally boneless spare ribs. Everything always comes out exactly to my liking. To make things even better, the staff is always very friendly and quick. I live fairly close; however, I have never had to wait longer than 15-20 minutes for my meal (which typically consists of a lot of different dishes as described above.) They also offer a healthy "steam delight" menu as well as combo meals which comes with so many different options to choose from. Indoor dining is limited as they only have a few tables and chairs available. Also, it is extremely warm inside, so this is something that would deter me from dining in. I love Hop Shing and I would most definitely recommend it to anyone looking for great Chinese food!!!!!!

I pick up from there about every other week and their food is excellent. I particularly love the Hawaiian chicken and the house special Ho Fun. I order on line and it’s always ready within 15 minutes.

Really like the wings. Garlic sauce on side with brown rice and steamed chicken with mix vegetables to die for....

3/4/22 I have been their customer for over 20 years. In that time, twice, I have had food quality issues. Once, about 6 years ago, it was boneless spare ribs which made my dog and I have vomiting and diarrhea. When I called about it, the woman was so rude I hung up and wrote a 1 star review which I decided to take down out of mercy. ---Over the years I had told them many times how great their food was and even referred many customers to them--- During the pandemic (now years later) we ordered for about a year or so now and things have been fine. (We ordered about once a month or so.) --- I noticed the quality of the food was different: Ie: they use a different egg roll vendor and their dumplings are now different.--- Though smaller and not quite as good as the ones they used for years, they're still pretty good and I know there are cutbacks everywhere so it may not be their fault. --- Fast forward to a little over a week ago when I bought Sesame Chicken: large. --- My husband had to wait around after I'd paid online for about 20 extra minutes beyond what online advised would be the time for pick up. ---No biggie but it is relevant. --- When you call, though they always say "Ten minute" for everything so we know there's always a little wait. --- My husband brought the food home, *we Iive around the corner mind you on Atlantic*, and the chicken was very MUSHY and soggy. It was $15.00 for this inedible mush. (What I think happened is when it was cooked, since they put it in the container immediately with the sauce, it trapped steam and it made the breading mushy.) I called and the woman who answers the phone is very loud, harsh and quite rude. I explained that I love their food, described the situation and politely advised this was inedible. --- I offered to return it for a new order and she refused and told me they do not accept returns NOR give refunds! ---I responded hat I don't pay for food that is inedible and asked for a manager. --- The owner (a guy, very nice, forgot his name) came on and I heard the woman speaking loudly, rapidly and in an Asian language to him. --- He suggested he cook me a small order as they cannot accept returns. I responded: "You're a smart man. I have been your customer for close to 2.5 decades. Why would a small order suffice in this situation when I paid for a large? I can send you a picture to your phone to prove the circumstance?" He then insisted he was not going to replace the order so I advised if not, then I anticipate a full refund. --- After having to advise due to his unprofessional apprehension, that I ill call my bank, he acquiesced and transferred me back to the same rude woman whom he permits to speak to his customers so rudely and she "cooked your order and everything was fine! You did not order this before and so you do not know how it comes!!!" I responded that I am 51 years old, I know well what I ordered and have ordered this multiple times. She responded that I had not ordered this before. (I usually buy the sesame chicken). I then advised that regardless what the meat choice is, if it is mushy when I order, it is unacceptable and I was refunded. --- Then I was charged again for my full order. ---Their platform merges with the site to order which merges with Paypal. There was a doubly processed full order amount of $38 and change and I had to have the owner on a 3 way with Paypal over it. ---The woman on the phone is a very busy woman and we don't order due to her professional demeanor, it's for the food. --- 3/4/22: My husband called to order 8 shrimp egg rolls today and she refused him, thus why this poor review.
