Ordered the Mr. Max and my wife The New Yorker as well as onion rings. Dogs were great! Rings were delicious and crispy. We sat at the bar and the woman who waited on us was very personable and friendly. We were visiting from Maine. Would go back again!

Such a sweet spot with retro decor and friendly service. The food is great! We tried a few different gourmet hot dogs and they were delicious! I recommend the New York style dog. Max's is a great place for dining with a family. It's relaxing there and we had a good time and a good meal. We'll be back in the summer!Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly menu and atmosphere.

She lets the long branch police do a speed trap on her property at night and the food looks terrible probably cooked in seed oils like soybean and canola rather than olive or avocado oil, don’t like to pass by this place it always looks

This place is over priced and not good. I went here for my birthday in November 2023 and it was terrible. Overpriced, dried out over cooked hot dogs and I got a skunked draft beer. Terrible experience. Now tonight I watched the Kitchen Nightmares episode and I swear back in November when I went they had reverted back to the terrible food. All the players were there that you see in show but food was inedible and only 3 patrons and some underage drinking Monmouth U frat boys. Really sad. Will never go back. I’m a local and this was embarrassingly bad for LB. All we’re asking is for a fresh juicy hot dog and cold draft beer! Wish they could get their act together b/c Max is an integral part of Long Branch history!Parking: Plenty of parking b/c no one is in there!

Spent $90 (with tip) here on 3 hot dogs, 3 sides (fried pickle chips, fried zucchini sticks, shoe string fries), and 3 sodas...NON-alcoholic drinks.The hot dogs were ridiculously overpriced for the taste. I had the Mr. Max hot dog- it's $14!!! It was a long dog with a weird pit creayed along the length with *what looked like* cheese-wiz inside the pit and a big glop of chilly on top of the section inside the bun. It was bland and the bun was crumbly/stale.My boyfriend had some hotdog with sourkraut and onions on it and was "ok." My daughter had a regular plain hot dog and the bun fell apart.They should've stuck with what Gordon Ramsey suggested for the hot dogs cause they went back to their old ways. For $90, it should've been the best hotdogs on the planet. They, most definitely, were not.Service staff were friendly and offered to get another bun for my daughter, but they were all stale and crumbly. And they were tiny compared to the really long and thin hot dog... similar to what Gordon Ramsey held up in the beginning of the 2023 Kitchen Nightmares episode.On a good note, I didn't witness drama. They did have a lovely woman singing and playing guitar, though.It was good atmosphere, I just wish the food matched up.

Just watched this episode of kitchen nightmares. Never been here but am fimilar with a good hotdog. These hotdogs look like they come from Thumann's and if that's the case I guarantee all looks aside these dogs taste amazing!Hope you guys make it to 100yrs!
