My friend Doug Eppel and I were in Lyndhurst so we decided to visit a place that I have heard great things about. Casa Giuseppe on Valley Brook Avenue. Cool little Italian Restaurant. An old-school Italian vibe and ambiance provided a very comfortable, relaxing dining atmosphere. Pristine and nicely decorated, it appeared to be a neighborhood favorite. The food and friendly and attentive service was exceptional. Thank you to our server, Nelson. After an ample, mouth water Burrata appetizer, served over arugula and fresh tomatoes, I ordered the Zuppa Di Pesce, a fantastic dish loaded with clams, mussels, calamari, scallops, shrimp, all served over linguine. Delicious! Dessert was a Pistachio Tartufo and a cappuccino, of course. Home run meal all around! I should mention that Casa Giuseppe is a BYOB. An unusual feature here is that despite it being a BYOB the restaurant is attached to Bar 503, from where you can order a drink to go with your meal if that is your preference. Bar 503 is a recommended destination in itself. A gorgeous, friendly little bar with a live DJ and karaoke (at least on our visit), and a place we had to stop in and have a Manhattan following our meal. Bartender, Frank, was also a wealth of knowledge and a great guy to talk to. BTW, Doug had the Chef's special, Shrimp & Scallops over Ink squid pasta in a vodka sauce. Magnificent fish! Thank you to Casa Giuseppe and Bar 503 for the gracious hospitality. Certainly a place I would recommend. 01/31/2024

The food is always delicious every time we go. The service is great!! Being that they are always so packed, They added a small room in the back through the bar which is like an extension to three restaurant. About 10 tables with 2 tvs. The light up menus are the best!! I def recommend coming here!!

Wow! Best service, food, and Joe and Brian took care of our table. We had a fantastic experience. The sauce was so phenomenal and calamari and burrata incredible. We live over an hour away and in the area visiting friends but we will return to eat here again. Oh and the menus that light up when you open them are the coolest touch. Very easy to read and such a great attention to detail (like everything else). Highly recommend making reservations- area would also be good for a small party with 2 rooms, a bar and very open ambiance- place stays full.

Food was fine, but the service was not. Water never gets filled. We had to keep asking for water. The waiter gave one of our meals, the shrimp parmigiana, to another table by accident and we ended up having to wait so long for another one to come out. We asked him to comp a dessert for her for the inconvenience and he caught an attitude, but he did ultimately comp the tiramisu. It seemed like our party of 4 wasn't important enough to him because there were a couple of larger parties, but for what we paid, service should have been better.
