Food is outstanding I've tried everything on the menu my fav is the mushroom taco.. the restaurant is extremely small has 2 small tables I guess it's primarily meant to order and go. Tte last time I was there they were playing reggae music and my food was piping hot and delish as usual

I was very confused upon entering as this is apparently a ghost kitchen. The only indication that asado is here was a chalkboard menu below the other Mexican restaurant's menu. I'm not sure where the restaurant pictures online are from... but it's not Maplewood Village. The chicken birria tacos were delicious though. The fish tacos were okay.

They were really good when they were on Springfield Ave. The food is somewhat disappointing since they relocated downtown Maplewood. New cooks, food is now loaded with salt and very dry. Bring the original cooks back, please.

Tried to eat here at 8:30 on Wednesday night but they closed early. #wack really hate restaurants that close early spontaneously

I was getting a tattoo this particular day on Friday the 13th. There was a wait and I was hungry. Came across this little gem and omg did not disappoint. It was a bit weird walking in. No one there, just a screen to order. I decided to eat there, so I sat on their bench swings... only two sets. There were cubbies there where this lady kept putting orders. So they must be popular. The wait was a bit, but when I finally got my tacos, they tasted so fresh and nice full bites. Even the way they looked , didn't looked rushed. Made perfect and ALL THE FLAVORS WERE PERFECT. I definitely recommend this spot.

The food was very good but a little bit pricey. The staff was super friendly and nice. As far as the ambiance it was a little too dark in there. I would go definitely go back again.

I never leave reviews on places I visit, but I definitely have to let everyone know that these are the best tacos and smoked chicken in NJ in my opinion! Top quality ingredients, amazing taste and flawless execution! HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!

Best birria tacos I’ve ever had! Honestly some of the best tacos I’ve ever had, period. Guac was also excellent - very fresh and very large portion. Can’t wait to return!

I ordered ahead and arrived to find my food was not ready. I rang the bell for service and was told my food would take 3 minutes. I ordered two 35$ pollo asado trays. It did not in fact take 3 minutes it took 15-20 minutes and when i got the food and drove 3 minutes back to my house the food was COLD . a complete waste of 80$ STOP DELETING REAL REVIEWS

Outstanding! Tried this place for the first time tonight and couldn't believe the flavors. It was so good! Delicious! Best tacos in the area by far. Worth the drive if you live a couple of towns over.

Stopped by to takeout the chicken birria tacos. My only other exposure to birria was in San Diego, and Asado's version is quite different. While it comes with the traditional consomme and toppings, the meat itself is very sweet, almost like barbecued chicken rather than the traditional Mexican version. Nevertheless, the tacos were good and had a mild spicy (almost mustardy) kick. They were also packaged very nicely for takeout.

The food was absolutely excellent. The woman that works there was quite nice but doesn’t speak English. This wasn’t an issue because we used a translation app and got along fine.Despite some of the following quirks, the experience and food was so good that we will definitely be back.A couple things to know; There are no servers at the restaurant. You go to a kiosk and place your order. There are not fields to ask for customization - like we wanted one dish without onions. So we needed to talk to someone in the restaurant. All food is delivered on a shelf and in a takeout bag. (Customer names aren’t typically announced so you have to be on top of it)There are a couple tables where you can eat in the restaurant (each with a swing seat - so you might be able to push it aside if you had a wheelchair)There are no garbage cans and you leave your empty containers on the table. Someone comes out and cleans the table. There are a couple tables where you can sit and eat.Vegetarian options: The mushroom tacos were excellentWheelchair accessibility: The restaurant is tight. A wheelchair could fit but might be challenging. Im sorry but I don’t remember whether there’s a step to enter the restaurant.
