This place is really good! I went there for my first time yesterday and I was really impressed by the food. The ladies that took and brought out my order were very nice. I ended up ordering the grilled chicken on a pita with a side of sweet potato fries. It did take a little longer than expected for me to receive my food. Once I received it the wait was totally worth it. Everything tasted extremely fresh on my pita including at the lettuce and tomatoes. I am obsessed with the Tangy BBQ sauce they used. Those sweet potato french fries were probably the best I've had. I am looking forward to coming back and trying out their mac and cheese and fried chicken next! I also really like that there is a parking lot in the back that is free for public parking. I was slightly worried because there isn't always much parking in the area but this made it super easy.

Genuinely impressed. Comfort food at its best. Hidden gem for sure. Loved the signature lemon chicken and plantain fries. Fried chicken was cooked to perfection....crispy and juicy on the inside. If I was living near by this would be a go-to. I will be sure to return.

Umm... I hate to say this but to me, the food lacked flavor The vegan fish was ok and the kale Caesar salad was actually very good Mac and Joloff was just.... Excellent customer service and ambience was cool. Maybe I ordered the wrong things? Might come back for a second try

Something's different... Don't get me wrong, the food is still great! But there is something noticeably different about the Kale Caesar Salad w/ shrimp. There was something special about this salad that required NOTHING... it was deliciously perfect. Now, today... I had to add salad dressing. Put it back the way it was please :(

Absolutely unacceptable!!!! We ordered 2 platters and received half of the food we ordered. They charge you an extra $3.00 for Mac and Cheese and our containers were halfway filled. Our spinach container was halfway filled. I called to speak with a manager regarding our order and was told to call back as the manager was in the bathroom. We called 10 minutes later and no one answered our calls. We are always told to support black businesses but unfortunately when we do it's always some nonsense. We will no longer be supporting this business.

Love the African and Soul Food concept of this restaurant. The wall art was also captivating. However, the food didn't quite do it for me. While I didn't hate my order, I also didn't find it exciting. It certainly left a lot to be desired. The drinks we got (Zobo & Mango) however, were delicious!

I did a online order, dinner for my family, my first time here my 13year old son loved it he had the fried chicken wings, macaroni and cheese with the yams, I had the kale salad which was amazingly delicious, with the salmon and okra food was so good here, and they give a good plate of food for your money, I would recommend this place to my family and friends, and I will also come again.

Excellent food and service. My Salmon was perfectly seasoned and not overcooked.. A little pricey maybe but that didn't stop me from going back only 2 days later! Try the Lavender Lemonade!!! It's a keeper.

Wow wow wow. Fantastic meal at Freetown on Saturday night. Came in with a big group and they could not have been more welcoming; they set up the dining room to ensure we could enjoy our meals while still being safe. Chicken, fish, vegan...all outstanding. Big shout out to Skylar for going above and beyond.

I placed a to go order online for 2 fried salmon, 1 grilled shrimp, and 1 fried shrimp dinner. Upon arrival, the young lady at the register was very friendly and my order was prepared on time. Unfortunately, after a 20 minute drive home, I discovered that all of the entrees were grilled. The mac and cheese, string beans, jollof, and kale caesar salad were good. I would only recommend the plantain fries when they are hot. Disappointed I didn't get what I ordered.
