Not sure if this is a mom and pop diner but I'll tell you this, the food is absolutely fire. I had the Meat lovers omelette and a side of the challah bread French toast and I don't think I've ever had French toast like this. It's so delicious. My date had a salad off the keto menu. They were attentive to her tree-nut allergies and the service was courteous and timely.

The most uninviting atmosphere with gray and blue walls; cold and poor lighting. Do these colors inspire me to eat food? I ordered a Cheeseburger. The meat was just ok. Overall it was a good execution of the burger except that I'm not crazy about brioche buns so I opted for the so called bun for kids which was the standard bun with sesame seeds which was a good choice although the bread did not appear to me as fresh. The Blue Cheese dressing is very good. Pepsi not coke is OK by me.

First time ordering from here. The food was just okay. But with the plethora of diners available, I won't go back to this one. Ordered the pancake deluxe and asked for turkey bacon. There's no upcharge listed on the menu and they didn't say anything when I ordered it. It wasn't until the bill came by that I was surprised it was $5 extra. When I asked about it, they just said yup that's the way it is. No acknowledgment about not mentioning the cost or apologies. And this is $5 on top of what's already factored in for the meat that comes with the deluxe, so we're talking about an insane up-charge for turkey bacon. This is a situation where service makes the difference - making it right with the customer would have gone a long way with retention. Instead, I'll just be going somewhere else.

I ordered chicken scampi and received chicken and shrimp scampi. I am allergic to shrimp. I traded dishes with my boyfriend (who had received an entirely different sandwich than he had ordered) and complained when paying. The manager tried to console me by saying that at least they hadn't *upcharged me* for the shrimp, and when this did not satisfy my irritation over nearly being poisoned, he refunded me $10 on the $80 order. I am not coming back. This was a beloved local establishment since my early childhood; very sad to see the new management ruining it.Dietary restrictions: Served me allergens with no notice.

Update 04/30/23: instead of the old name (Mapleleaf Diner) it's now called 'Spot Diner'.They've put a new face on the place with updated upholstery and paint (much brighter than before). The menu is basically the same, but they have adjusted the menu, take a look and ask the server if you're not finding something specific. The food is still good and the service is still great. We came here on a Sunday at 11am, and although the place was packed with two groups in front of us, we only waited about 5 minutes for a table. They were quick on the refills of coffee and we didn't have to wait long for our food. This has become our defacto diner to go to. It might not be shiny and new like others in the area, but the food is good, the prices are reasonable, and the wait staff are super friendly (not the fake kind) so what's not to love.

The food is OK. It’s a diner. It is not the Four Seasons. So, for a diner, it’s just fine. The potatoes are bland and could use some help. The staff is very nice, but I think one of them, thinking she was making a joke and being ‘cute’, chuckled and called me “fake”one day. That was odd. I don’t know what she meant. I guess it could mean that I could leave fake tips next time instead of the very generous tips I usually leave. I think it’s important to be friendly with customers, but to still be mindful of what one is saying. This was just weird.

Eh. Yes I went an hour before closing I understand, and I never brought any of this to their attention so ultimately it was good enough for me to not say anything. I'll try it again at some point. They're were 4 orders with our table tonight. A Greek panini, chicken franchise, another egg meal and french toast with bacon and 2 over hard eggs. The Greek panini was a success as was the other egg dish. However, I've never seen artichoke hearts in a franchise. According to the person eating it it was okay. The matzo ball soup they said also lacked a little flavor. Over all my food was solid. The eggs were done medium and the French toast was flavorful although it did tast a little freezer ish. Coffee was good. Staff was friendly. Over all eh to solid.
