Very good Portuguese restaurant for outside of the Newark Ironbound area, which generally has the best Portuguese food.

My dad fell in love with Mediterranean Chateau, so when my sister was in town we stopped for a family dinner. Party of 10 and we were sat right away. Had a reservation and table was ready to go. The featured appetizer according to pops, was the garlic shrimp. It didn't disappoint, buttery, garlicky and tasty. My only issue were the size of the shrimp, but I get it. Personal preference are bigger the better. My aunt I shared some Mussels and I was shocked we were the only folks out of 10 that liked mussels...lol. Oh well, more for us! For entree I went with the Stuffed Sole Special, which was loaded with crabmeat shrimp stuffing. The fish very flavorful and cooked to perfection. Enjoyed the garlic mash potatoes, but my veggies were a little bland. Lots of deserts on the table and I didn't hear any complaints, but it's desert. I only had coffee and it was fine. Overall, service was on point and staff friendly. Field goal is good!!!

Very good Portuguese restaurant for outside of the Newark Ironbound area, which generally has the best Portuguese food. I had the Portuguese style beef which was delicious. Their sangria was also great. I would recommend.

We've been going here for a few years & each time the meal and service is always very good. The waitstaff is always friendly & welcoming. We've tried many items on the menu & we've never been disappointed. Although I typically go for the paella Valencia, which is huge & always delicious, this visit I had the stuffed flounder & it excellent. Layers of paper thin potatoes, real crabmeat (not like most fillings of more breadcrumbs than crab) & fresh, tender flounder. The potatoes were so yummy & crispy from the broiler. We'll be back again for more great meals!

Food was reasonably priced .Had clams in green sauce but the portion size was very small and the sauce had very little taste Grouper was good however the t-bone was very thin and not what we were expecting. Would give it another try. Octopus appetizer was highly recommended by another patron.

The food is okay but the atmosphere is lacking. It’s very bright in the dining room and the music playing has ads and is loud. Wait staff is friendly.

Ordered half chicken and it was so disgusting. Worst I’ve ever had. No flavor, rice tasted oily. They barely give you any rice and chicken. I’m from Newark so I know good chicken and this is horrible. Wont be ordering from here again.

I ordered fried chicken sandwiches to go and they tasted like they were fried in used rancid oil or in oil previously used to fry fish. Ugh. Will never go there again.

Just ate there for first time. I have been to Newark, South River, etc. This place measures up. The thing I especially liked was sitting by the bar but it was more homey then commercial. Staff was excellent. Steak was good and reasonably priced. Good time in all.

Garlic shrimp was delicious. Veal cutlets were yummy. Portions are big enough to split. Dessert was delish. Tartufo so yummy.
