PROs- different cuisine , fantastic service , hot and fresh foodCONs- less spicy , table space , less veggie optionsWas in Paramus and we like to taste different cuisine . Was looking at Google maps and found this Burmese Cuisine with good ratings . 7-8 of us went and mostly everyone liked it . Good location. Parking available .. the place was a bit cramped though. Wish the tables were more spacious !Service was very good . Smiling faces and quick food. Spring rolls were so awesome . My friends had soupy noodles and they liked it . They also had potato chicken and it wasn’t spicy at all. Looked spicy but absolutely bland.. all other dishes were good . Not much of vegetarian dishes though… overall we liked it though. Will probably go back if I’m in that area . ???

This is a unique treasure of a restaurant. The only Burmese restaurant in NJ is a must try. This was the first time we tried Burmese food, and owner/chef was lovely with his hospitality. Food was amazing as well.If anyone has tried Kerala food, the taste resemblance of Burmese food was a pleasant surprise. Tea leaf salad, mohinga, palata with chicken curry were all delicious. Definitely try the grass jelly juice.

We try different restaurants for our weekly get-together and ended up in this wonderful Burmese restaurant for the first time. It’s a pity we only discovered it now but we will definitely make up by going there more frequently.Parking was easily available and we were seated quickly even without reservation. The place is not too big so not sure how crowded they get during busy hours as we went for early dinner middle of the week. We were welcomed by the friendly owner and made to feel at home at the onset. We were given suggestions for food and they all turned out yummy. The free chips they give while waiting for the order was so good, tasty with a hint of spice. The service is fast. This is a real gem of a restaurant in Maywood!

Cooked with love. I felt like I walked into a Burmese home - the hospitality and service were top notch only to be exceeded by the delicious flavors. We ordered the Nanjee noodles, Burmese tea leaf salad, and chicken & potato curry with coconut rice. The noodles had pleasant citrus overtones but the chicken and potato curry is the real winner!! Drop what you are doing and give this gem of a place a taste.

I have only gotten takeout from Amayer Kitchen and it’s delicious food. The owner always makes vegan versions of dishes for me. Bait Noodles is my favorite along with fried tofu (how is it so good???). But my family loves everything we order from there. The owner is always bustling about and overseeing everything-you can tell he takes pride in his cooking. Fresh, delicious, and a bit different. Highly recommended.

One of my favorite places! Home cooking.Owner is usually there and talks to everyone and gets to know his guests. Food is so good you dream about it! Don’t forget the hot milk tea…wow!Vegetarian options: Tofu made without soyDietary restrictions: They ask if you have any allergies to anything before ordering and they can make things however you need it

We were starving after a long, busy day and wanted some nice, comfort food. After looking at reviews for a couple of places in the area we decided to give Amayar kitchen a try since they were top rated. I am glad that we did, because their food is delicious. Our favorite was the chicken potato curry which we ordered with white rice on the side. The chicken was full of flavor and the curry stew perfect with the rice. We also had the beef curry and it was very tender and also delicious with a side of coconut rice. The final dish was the roasted duck noodles. The duck was tender and plentiful over the noodles. The owner was so kind and welcoming when we walked in. We'll definitely return and dine in next time. I'm just upset that it took us so long to try them because we live relatively close- which is great for us! So to sum it up, cute little spot, fresh comfort food with amazing flavors, and great customer service. 5 stars across the board! Sorry about the lack of pics- we were super hungry and dug in immediately! Oh and this was my first time trying Burmese food!!! Love it!!

My friend and I were in the area to get dinner at a place we saw online. That place was closed and Yelp absolutely saved the day. I had bookmarked Amayar previously and saw that it was nearby. We walked into a clean and modern restaurant. Small seating area, with comfortable seating. The owner Sato and the waitress were very friendly. Sato helped us picked a great selection of dishes. He also sent out the chickpea tofu for us to try. That had awesome texture and flavor and was served with a spicy sauce. We had the Burmese tea leaf salad, palata with chicken and potato, and samosas for other appetizers. What an amazing array of flavors and textures. For entrees we had the beef curry and the duck and noodle dish. Absolutely loved both. Both the duck and beef were very tender. Noodles and rice were excellent with them. Had a nice light dessert. Prices were very reasonable. Had a nice discussion about Myanmar (Burma) with Sato, very interesting. Certainly looking to return!
