Service was really bad. I had to remind her of our appetizer. They put chicken in front me when I ordered Lamb. The lamb was average at best. One cup of coffee. Just on and on. I probably won't be back. It's too bad. This place came highly recommended. And don't blame it on Easter. You're a restaurant, figure it out. Unless you say. You know what, it's holiday and service won't be up to par. We'll be giving a discount to offset that. But that wasn't the case. You charge the same prices. This service and the food should have been top shelf. Because it was a HOLIDAY!!!!

First time visiting the Metuchen Inn. Everything from the greeting to the coffee at the end of the meal was exceptional. Will be returning again as it has become for me a must to consider for an excellent dining experience.

WOW. My husband and I went here for the first time tonight with my in-laws and we were absolutely blown away. The service was top notch, everyone was so attentive. The place was cozy and very clean. The food was INCREDIBLE. Appetizer, meal, dessert one thing was better than the next. The crab cake was perfection, the owner Victor (what a gem of a man!) suggested the meatball appetizer, the cheesecake and bread pudding…GET THESE! The bread pudding was one of the most delicious things I have ever eaten. We also got the lobster bisque, clams, seafood linguine, wild mushroom fettuccine, salmon and mango raspberry sorbet… all absolutely delicious and very healthy portions. 12/10 recommend, wish I could give more than 5 stars!

This is the second time that our group of six has met at Metuchen Inn. It is a little noisy since it seems to do a lot of large parties on weekends. But they do manage to seat us at tables outside of the actual party rooms, so noise does get a little muffled. Food is very good. Service was quite good. Parking lot is sort of small but there is available parking on the street. Main salads are a good size. Branzino and the crab cake were good. Everyone enjoyed their meals. We will be back.
Celebrated my birthday at Metuchen Inn. Surprised with champagne. Food was delicious & fresh. Drinks also excellent. Had the tuna & crab appetizer & branzino for dinner. Old fashioned is my drink of choice. They accommodated my food allergies in all meal choices. Service was excellent. Always a local favorite place to go. Thank you

Went in for a quick drink and light dinner on an early Friday evening, and as always was a great experience. Had a Ceasar's Salad with Salmon, and Salmon was cooked perfectly. My wife had same but with grilled chicken and was also perfect Always a pleasant time at The Metuchen Inn. Bravo

The Metuchen Inn went all out to make it special for my dear friend's birthday brunch yesterday afternoon - with Jose making sure there were beautiful roses and daisies on the table! Thank you, Jose! What a lovely surprise! The brunch menu was delightful and the service was so attentive - absolutely wonderful! We were seated at a corner table in the main dining room - a perfect spot for conversation! We each ordered the Chicken Milanese Salad, which was delicious, and we saved room for the Warm Apple Pie A La Mode for dessert. The Metuchen Inn is my favorite place for celebrations. Thank you for making my friend's birthday brunch such a lovely celebration.

Had our baby shower here. Recommend 100%. The service was top-notch. Approximately 65 people and everyone's meal was perfect. We had the whole first floor, including the bar area, and they were very accommodating and let us take over. Between gifts, photo booths, and decorations, we took over almost every inch of the place. The owner checked on everyone at the party all throughout to make sure everyone's experience was good. Definitely book your event here or even go for a really nice dinner.

We experienced a lovely family celebration. The staff was attentive and accommodating. All the food was delicious especially the Sea Bass special. We started with oyster and they were shucked perfectly and so fresh.

Very nice old school classy atmosphere. Was there for a business dinner on a Monday evening. Not a very busy night, which was good for our purpose. There was plenty of staff, yet service seemed to run in spurts. We would have a couple people attending to us, then long pauses. Staff were friendly. Ordered the Caesar salad to start. It was a good standard Caesar. Warm roll was very good, disappoint roll service did not keep coming after initial roll. Sea bass as an entree was delicious. Very impressed with how it was cooked, flavor and sides. The quality of the main course will bring me back in the future.

Everything from the greeting at the door to the drinks to the food and service were excellent. I had a well made dirty martini along with fresh oysters as an appetizer, delicious Black Sea Bass from the daily specials list for my main course and a great decaf cappuccino after dinner. We come to this restaurant two to three times a year and it's always a special treat. Recommend.

Waitress spilled water all over me. Food was cold and I asked to be seated outside and was seated inside. When arrived we let them know we had reservations and they acted like we didn't have any. Waitress rushed me with ordering. She couldn't remember the specials. Not attentive because there was a party they were more concerned about. Had no silver ware to eat with. Waitress never came back over after a long time therefore the food was cold again. Didn't matter because they brought the same exact food back out to me that was cold the first time. I didn't want the food after all the inconveniences. Waitress packed it up anyway charged me for the awful food anyway. Portions were super small and super pricey. Such a waste of money and my husband got super sick after his food. Threw my food away because I didn't want to chance getting sick. Worst experience I have ever had in my life.
