Party of seven for dinner, called ahead. Wait wasn't terrible, but I would have expected a little better. The pastrami and steak sandwiches were good, but the Sloppy Joe was odd and cold in the middle, and the Kibbe mushroom and Baba Ganush dishes were disappointing.Dietary restrictions: Kosher.

Great atmosphere. Rapidly seated. Got the falafel, hummus and salsa (comes with pita but I declined). Got a plate of pickles, on the house, which were flavorful. The falafel plate was filling and flavorful. It came with five balls and it was sufficient. The hummus tasted so fresh. I had no complaints. Street parking fyi. They accept card.

Ordered lamb sliders and side of grilled vegetables on DoorDash. Restaurant forgot to pack sauces. Sliders completely dry. Sliders patties extremely salty. Was unable to eat them. Restaurant out of grilled vegetables. Overall unprofessional, not tasty. Eat elsewhere.

I decided to give it a second chance after reading the reviews thinking I must've had a bad experience prior. This place is dark and not inviting, but I was willing to overlook it if the food was decent. No. I really wanted it to be, but it just wasn't good by any means. The wait staff was nice, but frankly for me it comes down to the food and cleanliness of a place that really counts. The onion rings were oily and soggy. The steak... how can anyone in their right mind call it a steak i don't even know. So disappointed!

We enjoyed coming here. The people were friendly and the food was good. We tried the Lamb sliders, Israeli salad, and Falafel sandwich. My husband had been here years ago and wanted to come back. Very much enjoyed our lunch!

Service with a smile does count! The server was so nice not to quick , but compensated with her awesome attitude. Really tried so who cares. Maybe a separate bus boy?We were waiting , I got worried. I'd only tell owner maybe give out Cole slaw and pickels. Instead of just pickles ? Keeps clients busy opens pallete makes them fuller when dining old deli style. So I got the sloppy Joe triple decker sandwich. Literally a shock how good ir is. Im a big guy I don't have left overs. I had to take half home !!!No joke for a glatt kosher place it's the best biggest I have ever had. So worth it and price. My wife got a middle eastern dish also awesome she said " I could eat this every day "The server said she felt bad we waited , we are just impatient. Empty nesters now, but we were still raving about food. She gave us 2 awesome awesome chocolate cookies. Well done !Remember, you'll be waiting , this still rocks. We were passing through was surprised to hear kosher in Metuchen ???( the fried pickles was a fail , slice them into circles, coat with egg wash , bread crumbs , wait . Fry very hot oil).

Food is very very good. Fancy enough for a meeting. But not for a date. But thats keeps pricing affordable. Great spot

I recently tried The Orchid Restaurant, and I have to say, I was blown away by the food. While the restaurant itself is more of a pickup station than a traditional dine-in spot, the quality of the dishes is absolutely top-notch. I ordered the pastrami on rye, and it was a culinary masterpiece. The flavors were so rich and perfectly balanced that I would easily rate it a solid 10/10. The pastrami was tender, and the rye bread was fresh - it was hands down the best pastrami sandwich I've ever had. Even though the atmosphere and service are minimal due to the pickup format, the outstanding food has made me an instant and enthusiastic regular customer. If you're a fan of delicious, high-quality food, The Orchid Restaurant is a must-visit
