Awesome food, good service too. We went here for dinner, I ordered green curry and my friend ordered one of the shrimp curries. We also got thai iced tea and matcha latte which both tasted great. It's a good date night spot if you are looking for one. They do get packed so call ahead and reserve a table if going on the weekend.

As much as I love the taste of the food, I have gotten headaches after eating here. I asked if they put msg and they said no. Next time I ordered, I just said no msg please and I still got a headache. Not sure what it is but I've stopped coming here and haven't had a headache after eating since.

Went out to dinner with another couple to SLA. A dinner came to the table that was way over salted with soy sauce. My wife being considerate and not returning the dish just asked for a small amount of xtra noodle to add to the dish. A small dish of noodles was brought over to the table. We declined dessert and received the bill. There was a charge for $5.00 for the small plate of noodles - maybe 2-3 oz. That is totally foolish - since she saved the cost of throwing out the dish and replacing. It's not that there wasn't enough food. The chef couldn't get it right. Besides the waitress came over over 5 times to take our order. What's the rush? Nobody was waiting and we had a reservation. Absolutely will "NEVER " return! Too many great restaurants in Montclair choose from!

I’ve dined in and done take-out before a few times. The staff is wonderful and I love the pad see ew with tofu. They really make it so well and no other Thai places in the area compare.

Delicious! Highly recommend making reservations. Small cozy restaurant was fully booked when we got there. It's BYOB which means they really focus on their food and it did not disappoint. We started with the wings and they were delicious. Perfect combination of flavor and a little spice and we also shared a house salad. It was a basic salad with lettuce cucumbers and a couple of grape tomatoes, so not your usual Thai salad but the dressing saved it. I had the whole fried fish and it was really amazing. Lots of flavored with a nice citrus sauce on the bottom and sliced grape tomatoes and cucumbers decorating the fish. I will definitely be getting this dish again. My husband had the pad kee mao and it was also very good. We ended the evening with a coconut flan which was very tasty. Great evening out. Easy to find parking on the street. The only thing is the tables are really crammed together so you can hear your neighbors conversation. The food and service were great.

The best Thai food in the area. Always fresh ingredients, perfectly prepared appetizers and entrees. Friendly, happy staff. A joy to go and have a meal there. Love sitting by the window. One slight negative - house salad very fresh but underwhelming and needs more dressing. Be back soon.

Food is great, service is very helpful and attentive, ambiance is simple but clean and cozy, very busy restaurant so reservation is preferable

Really unique Thai with a great neighborhood ambiance. The menu is eclectic with delicious choices for all palates. Just love Sla Thai.

The service was amazing. All of the staff were kind and welcoming. The emphasis on good lighting really showed throughout the restaurant and took me away from being in Upper Montclair. The Sai Ua was yummy and reminds me of an old friend's Laotian's sausages. The Truffle rolls were a perfect appetizer. The coconut sticky rice with the noodles was a suprise! So savory and sweet. For our main dish, we had the pad thai and I honestly felt like I was in an auntie's kitchen. The dessert was a classic coconut sticky rice with mangos, lychee, strawberry and pineapple! Their mojitos taste so wonderful and complimented each meal. Did I mention there was a special plate for each meal? I loved dining at Sla and look forward to visiting again!

This is a cute restaurant but what makes it a bit unpleasant is the smell. It smells like sour rag or sour mop. I came here for my birthday. The service was okay, nothing special. The food was also disappointing. I ordered the Truffle Roll which was okay…it wasn’t bad, the sauce it came with was tasty. I also ordered the Gui Chai which I didn’t like at all. I thought it was going to taste like a scallion pancake but it was completely different….I had the wrong expectations on that one… I only took one bite of it and asked if it could be removed from the bill but they refuse…ehhh what are you gonna do. I also got the Tomkha soup, which was good. For my main dish I got the Nam Thok Pla tod. I really didn’t enjoy it. To me it had way to much fish sauce…idk it just wasn’t good. I took it home anyway so I can wash it off make my own sauce for it. Overall my experience wasn’t the best…I don’t think I’ll be coming back. If I do I wouldn’t get any of the above again.
