Even though they are almost always busy (because their food is that good), the staff is always hustling with cheerful demeanor to take care of their customers. Visiting from Baltimore, originally from LA, and happened upon Sparos because everything else was closed.. and what a happy accident. The best sandwich I’ve had in my life. We got the Fat Dom and Joe Champ. I will literally be dreaming of these and will grab them again when I’m in NJ.The guys were nice, and helped me find a place to get some pastries to take home. Super happy we stopped here!

I heard they just started doing breakfast sandwiches, so I had to give them a try. Let me tell you, they didn't disappoint. I got a Taylor Ham, egg and cheese on a round roll. It had 2 good sized fried eggs, 5 slices of Taylor Ham and a lot of nicely melted American cheese (considering most places around here use 1 slice of barely-melted cheese). Awesome staff and a great price. Definitely going back for breakfast and would highly recommend you do the same!!

I want to love this place but it’s so inconsistent and there’s always something wrong with my order. Ordered 2 subs, one small & one large. They mixed up the small and large and didn’t remove the onions or put oil and vinegar on the side. If you provide the customer with options, get them right. It’s clearly printed on the receipt.

Just wanted to make an update about their customer service. I placed a delivery order via GrubHub a few days ago for lunch and I received the incorrect sandwich. Called up Sparo's, they apologized for the mistake, let me keep the incorrect sandwich, made me the correct one (which I went and picked up), and they even threw in a free side of cole slaw. for making it right.

They have amazing food but their inability to handle the lunch rush in Montclair was really bad. Placed an order online around 11:30 on a Friday. Didn't go to pick it up until 30 mins after though it said it would be ready in 25 mins. When my friend went in for the 2 sandwiches she said it was absolute chaos. They claimed they never received the order which isn't true because I received confirmation for it be placed and when order pick up would be. Then we had to wait and additional 40 mins and they were taking walk in orders over orders that were placed an hour before. So disappointing and stressful. That area of Montclair has zero parking at that time and I kept circling the block for parking. Finally we got our sandwiches almost 1hr30 mins later and had 10 mins to eat when we returned to work. Not trying to order from there again and go through that.

Great sandwiches, above and beyond your traditional Italian sub shop Faire. Loved the fat Dom. Probably top 5 sub shop sandwich I've had. Bravo!

The sandwich’s are ok to good, it’s still the sandwiches. the price is kind of high. My kids said, they went to old subways place which is now sparo’s, there is no menu, so they just ordered some, and found the prices are way higher than other sandwich stores. Plus this store charges CC convenience fee.

I've been wanting to try this place for a while now from seeing/hearing such good things, but haven't been in the neighborhood for lunch and they close at 4:00 so I could never get here. Today was the day!What I really liked: the seeded semolina was delicious, easiest .25 cents extra I ever spent; fresh ingredients; good amount of meat; not an overwhelming amount of toppings so that the sandwich is so fat you can barely fit it in your mouth; friendly serviceThe reasons for -1 star: can't order at the counter, you have to order at the single kiosk they have, or online (maybe over the phone too? I didn't check) -- definitely recommend ordering ahead, I had an order of 5-6 sandwiches ahead of me and waited about 20 minutes for my 1 sandwich; I requested oil & vinegar on the side instead of the sandwich because I wanted to save the sandwich for a bit later and didn't want to bread to get soggy, but the guy behind the counter told me he didn't realize I wanted it on the side and he had already put it on the sandwich, so, that sucked :( sort of ruined it for me; and, lastly, I'm sorry, but this sandwich was not worth over $18. That is wildddd for a sub. I think $14 max is what I'm used to seeing for something like this.I wouldn't travel to get here, and I wouldn't go here again because of the price point, but it was a really good sub, and if I was local and if they lowered their pricing a bit, I would be back.
