The food is regularly fresh and flavorful, staff members hands over excellent service. I like how neat it is and vibes. Will come visit again.

Fresh food and friendly service. It was pretty empty on a Wednesday night, but I was prepared since I called ahead. Our waiter was polite and attentive and the chef sent out a delicious complimentary creme brûlée.

We ordered delivery for dinner from Thai Chef. Our order included curry puffs, chicken satay, and spring rolls as starters. I was impressed by the number of spring rolls in one order (seven!). The flavor was good on the curry puff but if needed a thinner sauce than the cucumber “chutney” it was served with. Husband raved about the chicken satay. For mains, we ordered chicken pad Thai and green chicken curry. Both had great flavor and were generous portions. We ordered the pad Thai at a medium spice level, but found it lacking any discernible heat. Delivery order included multiple pairs of chopsticks. A curious order of white toast points was included.

I had a very bad experience with the new owners. There was a rat under the table cloth , it was too familiar with dining room and all the things around were full of dust.

When you place a reservation for a birthday and show up to Montclair on a busy evening and struggle with parking for twenty minutes, you'd expect the restaurant to be open at the time you placed the reservation, right? We did too. Yet astonishingly, the place was closed, despite the hours on the website claiming otherwise. Real classy, Thai Chef.

Ordinary food and below par location. We went here as the Denville location was recently closed which was a shocker it being our favorite for years and excellent food/service. Hope they open in Denville area again with same chef.

I would not recommend delivery. My girlfriend and i ordered delivery around 7:30pm on a Friday night... we never got our food. I cannot even rate the dinner we ordered since, well, we never got to eat it. After waiting over an hour for the delivery to arrive we called the restaurant to check. I was given false promises of, "We apologize this is our mistake. We will send your order out right now". Fast forward another hour and still no delivery. We called a second time, now 9:45pm, and the employee who answered had no excuses. Obviously they need to hire a new delivery driver. We were given the driver's phone number and when we called him he was rude and could not explain what was taking so long. He also had someone in his car with him who decided to yell and shout obscenities at us. 0 out of 10 would not recommend ordering delivery. Maybe the food tastes good, but we will never know.

I am not giving Thai Chef zero stars for two reasons. First, the fish in their fish tank were quite nice. Second and more importantly, I am not allowed to give less than one star. I had one of the worst experiences I've ever had in a restaurant here. First, the glasses they gave were filled with about 5% water and both the glasses and the silverware were very clearly used with residue on them. We had to send the squid salad back on accout of squid being quite rotten. My wife was smart enough to quickly spit out the piece of squid she tried on account of it being somewhere between very unfresh to potentially not safe to eat. The soup was edible but very sweet and not balanced at all. I am pretty familiar with Thai food and this was a really disappointing experience. The waiter was quite nice, but there was just so many faults with the meal. This was truly one of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had.

Unpleasant experience on Saturday night... we came to the restaurant around 6 pm . After we sit we found our serving utensils are not clean ( seems like they didn't clean up after costumer left and the serving glass have some water left in the glass cup....) they change after we notice them. When the food came it's another surprising story. We ordered spicy squid salad the squid is not fresh at all and the greens in the salad are soggy... another dish we order was Tom kah gai was sweat as candy can't really swallow....
