Went there for the first time. Food was fantastic. Service was good. We went on a Saturday around 6 so it was not yet that busy and service was not what we expected for the quality of this restaurant and the amount of customers at that time.

Was not happy with my experience here at all . It was my fiancé and I anniversary so we wanted to eat here for our celebration. Had a 830 reservation was seated at 840 ( no problem) . Sat down and asked for the cocktail menu but didn't have a waiter until 20 min later . Finally received the cocktail menu ordered 2 drinks and received the drinks after 10 min which was fine . Didn't order appetizers because 8/10 were shellfish so ordered the main course . We didn't receive our main course until 40 min later and the waiter didn't even acknowledge us . The fire Alarm went off for over 35 min . We couldn't hear each other the during this time . We get a headache after that loud noise then the food finally comes . The steak was chewy and not good, the Mac and cheese tasted as if it was in a box the cream spinach and asparagus were good . After receiving the check for waiting this long and having an alarm blaring in our ear most of the night we would expect something to be taking off but no nothing . It was a horrible experience and won't go back here again .

Fire alarm was going off during our entire meal (1+ hours) and we hardly received any direction on what was going on, and with mixed stories on the issue. We've had great experiences here in the past, but this time the service was also sub par for the type of restaurant this is. The restaurant hardly compensated for the inconvenience of the fire alarm literally going off during our entire meal, making it miserable to sit through.

We had a 7:30 reservation and didn't get seated until 8 pm. Ten or 15 minutes seems reasonable but not 30. No one even offered a drink or anything for making us wait. Expected more.

Very fresh sea bass, wonderfully prepared, perfectly roasted prime rib, excellent onion soup, Rod's hasn't lost track of its heritage. The only issue was with the service when the bill was presented before the dessert was. A silly oversight but shouldn't have happened at these prices.

Tonight five of us from 27-76 were there to celebrate a 30th birthday.. It's such rare a pleasure to enjoy fine dining in a very comfortable classic restaurant that you can actually have a conversation. Lovely soft background music with attentive service. We all enjoyed sharing two large shrimp cocktails and a bottle of wine. We each had different salads and entrees that were excellent. The perfect ending was four different desserts we all shared. We all had such a relaxing evening that we were there for quite some time and never felt rushed. We were in the main dining room but the charming rail car is very special. Happy memories of Rods at my parents 25 Anniversary Party over 50 years ago and stayed in the Madison Hotel that is attached for my 40 and 45th reunions. My relative remember going to a Halloween Party years ago. So many happy lasting memories are made at Rods. Thank you!

Great atmosphere and food. I went there for my wife’s birthday with a party of mine. The older waiter could not handle our table. Kept forgetting drinks, food and missing our party member’s orders. Sometime took half the table’s order and would forget the other half.

Beautiful restaurant and great food, we were here for a 70th birthday celebration. However the service was S-L-O-W. We had a toddler who does really well in restaurants, but the overall service was close to 2 hours. While her food came out fast, it was brought out before the adults even ordered their meal, which meant she was done eating before our appetizers even arrived and got restless.

Food was great as always. However the service was bad very slow. It took our waiter 20 minutes to get us a bottle of wine. Never came to check on us food was cold. I was very surprised, prior to last night I never had a bad experience.

Rod's is an old favorite, consistent with good food and service. Our waiter, Steven, was great and gave thoughtful and good recommendations. The entire staff was attentive and pleasant. The crab bisque was yummy, and the scallops and pork chopped cooked perfectly.
