First time at Clyz since new ownership. Was a St. Patty's Day work celebration so no ordering from regular menu but rather a buffet setup with about 7 different dishes. Food was good. Service was great from waitress coming around for drink orders. They had orange whiskey for my fav orange whiskey mule! I and the coworkers I spoke to would have preferred not having the lights dimmed as it was way too dark and there was no need for such "mood" lighting.

After being there an hour and a half we still hadn't gotten to order entrees. We left hungry having spent over $100. Drinks were $15 each and we only had one. Waitress seemed disinterested in serving our table though she was going to the ones around us. It was not crowded.

An unexpected wonderful experience.We were a little hesitant when we entered into a very busy bar but we were promptly shown our table in a cozy, quite dining room. Our promptly served entrees, LI duck and salmon were well prepared, delicious and nicely presented.Thumbs up!Ps. We were 15 min late on our reservation. Shame on us. Clydz called us to ask if they should still hold the table. Glad they did and yes, that was a courtesy we duly noted.

Clydz is one of my favorite places in New Jersey. I had my first date with my boyfriend there, and we love going back for the atmosphere, the fried "olives", and the black Manhattans. 10/10!
I dined at Clydz this past Saturday.. it was my wide and I, and two close friends.My friends had to return her chicken entrée, because it was not fully cooked. My wife order a Filet Mignon and she requested it to be Medium well. Upon her cutting into the steak around the edge, there was a little pink. But she said she's continue on. Upon her 2nd cut, it got very pink. So I decided to trade dishes with her since I can do Medium. Mind you, my burger lacked any type of flavor profile, so THAT wasn't good either. I continued to cut into the steak, and as I got to the middle, it's damn fully rare. On top of it also lacking in any flavor. By time I had to send that dish back as well.I will say that the service is TOP NOTCH, our waitress and the manager were extremely attentive, and apologetic and I can tell they wanted to make it right. They offered us the ability to order another entrée, and we selected the from the special which was spicy rigatoni. By that time our appetite was shot, and I really hate to say it, but even that dish was just ok. But as I mentioned, 5/5 for the service from the manager and our server.My wife came here over the holidays for a work function and the ordered the Bolognese, and she mentioned that to just wasn't so good.I'm pretty surprised at the amount of high reviews this place gets. Either everyone is sugar coating a lot, or there are a lot of easily satisfied people. One reviewer mentioned that they mainly go there for the drinks! That I can believe and agree with, as the drinks are the one thing, along with the service, that are the two redeeming qualities of this place. I truly feel the issues are in the kitchen. The food is extremely average, and apparently way over-rated!!I am by no means a picker eater, or an overly critical person. Give me something that tastes good, in a hole in the wall join, and I'm happy. Their grilled Shrimp dish that comes with Gigante beans doesn't even look appetizing. What an odd pairing, and the shrimp themselves looked dry (my friends wife ended up ordering that to replace her uncooked chicken).

My husband and I decided to spend a belated valentines date night at Clydz bc we have a beloved pup name Clyde. Overall, experience was good. It was a Saturday night, 7pm reservation and restaurant was pretty packed. Bar area was full. We got a booth in an area that was a bit away from the noise which was nice and didn't feel tight. service was very fast! like, food out in minutes from ordering fast. delivered by host and server- fast. kind of feeling like being rushed out - fast. We got the grilled octopus app, hubby got prime rib (special) and I got the duck gnocchi. Food and drinks were good/average. Not bad, not exceptional. Overall, I'd recommend.
