A very nice find with great value for the money. I had a delicious pita / gyro wrap. My grumpy husband, who usually complains about his food, had a platter with grilled chicken, salad, and hummus with pita. He immediately stopped kvetching and was satisfied.

I ate here for years. Most recently I ate here almost every week for the entire year. The thing that kept bringing me back are the chicken shawarma/chicken curry and rice platters. For $7 (regular) or $10 (large) these were outstanding. I believe they are more filling, fresh, and flavorful than all the other places I have gotten NY platters from. Spicy rice with chicken curry is great if you want it spicy. If you prefer it more mild then rice and shawarma is great too. This is one of my favorite places of all of the places I have eaten at. Very nutritious food as well.

King Pita is one of my favorite places to eat on campus. I have had both the food from the student center as well as from events when King Pitas caters them. The food is always good. I tend to get the chicken and rice platters and will more often then not order a the grape leaves as an app. They also have hibiscus tea right now which is great but my favorite is the unsweetened mint tea that will hopefully come back once everyone is on campus. Mike is always super friendly and seems happy to see people even before this pandemic happened. It nice when people remember you. Currently with Covid, they are open but with abbreviated hours. I think they are open until 5 on Monday through Thursday and they may close sooner on Fridays, you can always call to check. You do need to have a Rutgers ID to get into the student center thought.
