Fun place to pop in for a beer and some classic arcade games. The bar pie was good too.

I am a lifelong gamer and love bar arcades.Barcade Newark has a large variety of retro arcade games and pinball games. The prices to play the games are very reasonable. Most older games are only one or two tokens to play. The staff did a good job of intermittently cleaning the machines. However the token machine only takes cash. Not the worst thing considering how overpriced card based arcades work. The food options are good for a bar arcade but are not necessarily gourmet. I appreciated that they had vegetarian food options! They have a strong draft beer selection and also offer a lot of happy hour food/drink combos.I will definitely be back to play, drink, and eat!

Bartender Tatiana was amazing she was very kind and allowed my partner and I to sample some cider before making a purchase. Also the appetizers (buffalo cauliflower) was delicious. The games are really cheap 50¢ a game. Atmosphere, vibe and choice of music is a wonderful place for a intimate date.

Can never go wrong with old school games with friends. Old style arcade with food and drinks is definitely a chill vibe. You can come here alone but it's better with friends. I've been to the one in Jersey City and Brooklyn and they all essentially have the same vibe. They switch up some of their menus, I believe when the seasons change.

Fun place to come with friends on a night out! They have a bunch of retro video games and pinball machines. They offer food, a full bar, and a great craft beer selection. I've been here a handful of times and during their busy hours (Fri & Sat night) it can be hard to find a game to play because of the crowd. However I recently came back during a weekday and it was a whole different experience and we had the whole arcade basically to ourselves.

I have been to 5 different Barcade locations in Manhattan and New Jersey. This is not really any better or worse than the other locations. It is the only location that i have been to I believe that did not even have a bouncer, so it is very lenient and was also empty. The real problem with this Newark location is the location. It has somewhat similar video game selection as the other barcades I have been to (about 50 arcade games and 10 Pinball machines). However, the area is just kinda in the middle of nowhere and from 2 sides and windows of the place, you are 3 or 5 feet from cars zooming by or sitting in traffic, right outside the glass, which is a very odd and interesting layout. I am just sad that I almost predict that it will not last long. Every other location I have been to (4 other barcades) had way more attendance and crowds at similar times of day. Even the Jersey City location had more people from what I remember. The Williamsburg and 2 Lower Manhattan locations will ALWAYS have the most traffic and get the most crowds, just how it is. Definitely worth checking out this location as you might see 15 or 20 new arcade games that don't exist in other Barcades here, and every Barcade location has usually vastly different pinball games

What a fun place to spend your evenings with a bunch of friends! So many cool games and great drinks to go with it. I really liked the fact that they checked vaccination proof before admitting people inside!

I love visiting this Barcade in Newark. We haven't been there since pandemic and I have to say they are very good about checking vaccination information. So, definitely felt safe for being in Newark. Food, drinks and especially drink options are amazing!

Great food and the bar is located centrally in Newark for all of those working in the area.... The VIKING BLOOD cocktail is especially good...

Great atmosphere and friendly service. Plenty of classic arcade games to choose from. Ordered lentil sliders, which were delicious, but the Italian hot dog was less than desirable.
