Eh the shrimp was hard. Like I’ve never eaten fried shrimp that wasn’t even chewable. Mac and cheese, greens and fries were good. Corn bread dry and whiting was flavorful but not exactly crispy and flaky. Wings were good.

The food here is AMAZING! The first time I went, I had the Turkey wings with baked mac and cheese, candied yams, and potato salad, and it was like Thanksgiving in the spring! It was SOOOO good. I'm ashamed to say that I have been eating here every weekend since then (and that was March of 2021). This place has my cheat food, and I save up my calories all week with the anticipation to eat here.There is no wrong item on the menu except the seafood salad, but that's just because I'm allergic to shrimp and can't try it. Everything is so good. I repeat, EVERYTHING IS SO GOOD.I will be getting the mac and cheese to serve for Thanksgiving because it tastes like my grandmother made it, and she is no longer with us to share that recipe. I may get the potato salad too, because it's just as good. Hell, they may cater thanksgiving and Christmas. Are ya'll hiring taste testers?Ps... I reserved my review until I could give an accurate one, and the food is spectacular. It's definitely made with love.

The food was fantastic. I had the j*** chicken, baked mac and cheese, and yellow rice. It came with cornbread also. Everything was delicious. Perfectly seasoned, flavorful, perfect bit of spicy heat. My wife got the whiting, collard greens and mac & cheese. She said everything was great. She said the collards were very spicy, but she has a low heat threshold.Highly, highly recommended! Got it delivered to Montclair and it was still warm.

Decided to give this spot a try based off a recommendation from a friend. Unfortunately they were out of candied yams. The collards were made with Turkey. Though they were okay, tasted a bit on the salty side. The mac and cheese was okay, not flavorful or cheesy enough. The consensus was that they were okay. The string beans were really good and on point. The BBQ and fried chickens were okay, nothing to rave about. However, the Turkey wings were on the money. Full of flavor and meaty too. One this is that to my surprise that the meals came with cornbread. The cornbread was placed under parchment paper and was soaked by all the juices from the meat, and was literally disintegrated by the time it was realized as it was under the paper and wasn't visible. One item that was on point was the Uptown. Right ratio of iced tea and lemonade.
