Yes, please! I'm in. I worked about 2 blocks from this place for about a year. My co-workers and I didn't always agree on what to have for lunch. Whenever somebody suggested this place, we all instantly agreed, yes! When other co-workers or bosses asked what's good to eat around here, we recommended BQN and scored bonus points. They have a nice little eat in area. The ladies who work here are really friendly. The food is delicious. It tastes like my friend from middles schools mom's home cooking and the place has a nice family atmosphere. You can call and place an order for pickup. you get good value for your money. I'm not a fan of styrofoam containers, but I won't fault them for that. If your in the area and looking for some authentic Spanish cooking, and don't wanna overpay, this is the spot!! Enjoy!

08-28-2017 - I went just to eat authentic Puerto Rican food. For me this local restaurant is a gem.

I was visiting NJ this past weekend and came across this restaurant; upon reviewing their reviews and close to 5 star ratings I was enticed to give it a try; and I'm glad I did. Service was amazing! The server was extremely attentive! I had the mofongo with fried chicken... I must say, the BEST mofongo I've ever tasted. Most mofongos are dry and require some kind of sauce to wet it and still remain dry... this one didn't require ANY sauce.. it was moist and easy to swallow. I also had the alcapurria..it was delicious as well. I would strongly recommend this restaurant. Oh and the nice salsa music playing in the background is a great touch! Come alone, as I did or bring friends. You'll enjoy it either way!

Excellent spot. Great food and great service. The appetizer sampler (alcapurrias, tostones, chorizo, pasteles, arañitas, chicharrón de pollo and more) can feed 6 people and the sancocho is super tasty. We'll be back for the mofongo and pernil.

Y’all got to go to this place. I’m from Toms River so to find a PR restaurant that has food like my abuela makes is impossible to find. This was exactly what I was looking for. Brought my cousin in who lives in Newark and both of us loved it. Right on point! Food was amazing and staff and service was great. Clean atmosphere and worth my time for sure. Def will be back. Bought extra food just to bring back to the wife cause I know I won’t have food like this till I see Mama (abuela)...A++...10/10

We were in Newark for the Marc Anthony concert and were trying to figure out a place to eat. I found this place on google. Im Puerto Rican and loooove me some PRican food, but nothing is like our homemade food. I WAS PLEASANTLY SURPRISED!! The food was amazing!! Freshly fried Pastelillos de Carne to the surullitos to the culetas!! The arroz con gandules was on point!!! The service was great super friendly.

The food was authentic. Wanted a pulpo salad and they made it fresh, had a sandwich and felt like I was back in PR. The alcapurria was just like my mother made it. Prices are beyond reasonable, my only wish is that they were here in NY. Whenever I am near Newark I will definitely be going back.

They are always so polite, quick and the food is delicious. I needed a few carbs today AND protein, so I had the rice, beans AND roasted (to perfection) chicken... Exquisito! It smelled so good, I forgot to photograph it first.

Only docking a star because everywhere, all the signs said lunch special m-f and when I went on friDay, she said it was only Thursday. So quite expensive for just rice, rOasted chicken and red bEans. Aside from that, food is quite tasty but higher prices for the area when no lunch special.

This place is just like eating food that my mom / my grandma just finished cooking - nice decor, friendly people, awesome homemade food... it's like they took the best restaurant on the island & dropped it here. Prices are good, portions are generous. I am a tour bus driver & have tasted PR food all over the USA... BUT this place takes the top prize!

Nice clean restaurant with friendly staff. They have specials every day but their hours are limited like most lunch places. Nicely air conditioned inside and the exhaust fan works well with a minimal food odors.
