The term don't judge a book by its cover, perfectly describes Cafe Avenida. Friends had invited me several times and I was very hesitant based on the restaurants exterior. Doesn't help that NJ's best burger (Krug's) is directly across the street.Wow am I glad I finally tried them out, my T-Bone steak was perfectly grilled medium well. My wife had the grilled Picanha with rice and fresh cut fries.The food was rustically served on wood plates which made the whole experience all the better. Service was on point, very friendly, and we never waited more than a minute to get additional drinks. The server even brought me to thru the kitchen to see the brick oven grill behind the building. Very impressive setup.
