Food is really good. I love the pickles they have on the table. Excellent service ! I went to the deli with several coworkers and we had no problem getting a seat. Go a little early if you out have a larger group.

We were visiting from Australia and arrived a bit early when the staff noticed us trying the door they opened up early for us. The food was amazing and the warmth of the staff was exceptional as was the owner who went out of his way to make us comfortable. A must to visit especially if you’re a hockey fan…..although maybe not if you’re a rangers fan?

It was our uncle's request to have pastrami and matzo ball soup for his 93rd birthday, we wasn't disappointed, he loved it as well as my husband and my dish were very tasty and delicious.Very friendly staff, the owner even gave our uncle pistachio halva with a lot candle, everyone sang happy birthday to him. The halva was excellent!Will be back there again.

I am a semi-regular. It is the best. Any Phila Flyer fan who likes the food but does not like the local decor should get their food at the curb and eat sitting on the famous bench in front of the Courthouse next to Abe Lincoln.

My daughter, my new son-in-law, his uncle and I went here. They've been coming for decades and I can see why. It's a Newark institution and the food is surely the goods. But the place is totally festooned with Jersey Devils Hockey memorabilia and I'm a Philly guy and a huge Flyers fan. I couldn't swallow my sandwich no matter how tasty. The entire experience was miserable and I'm not going back. To think that Scott Stevens and Billy Smith probably ate here is completely off-putting. Ugh.

Got a chopped liver sandwich and an egg cream from here and they were amazing. First the sandwich. The liver I know isn't for everyone. I got it with provolone and Cole slaw with Russian dressing. Couldn't have been better. Liver was creamy and just right. My only complaint was too much on the sandwich. I'm glad I ate alone because it would have looked like a comedy show trying to manage eating this. I just took some off and polished off the rye bread contained masterpiece. Good stuff. The egg cream was on point. At least I have another go to after Holstens in Bloomfield. This one was just as good. Also had a pickle which was a delicious finale to the meal. I will definitely be back here. Pricey but worth a few extra bucks.

What an amazing place to not only eat but just to enjoy the old school deli vibe. Owner came out and conversed with us and made sure our food and service was good, but the food and service wasn’t just good it was top notch. Come and enjoy a corned beef and pastrami on rye it was one of the best I have ever had.
Absolutely excellent deli. The folks are great. Super friendly and helpful. Some time ago they helped me out with a last minute catering order so I promised myself I'd try them myself when I was back in the area. Am i ever glad I did. We both had the open face Reuben. Reuben would have been proud!
