We came in for lunch before a flight out of EWR, everything tasted great, and the portion size was huge. Slightly overcooked and service is a bit slow

We came here to celebrate a friends birthday and asked for rodizio. We were being helped and taken care of and then it felt like our waiters just forgot about us and never brought us anymore meat. Usually I wouldn’t make a big deal out of this but we paid $55 for rodizio which is endless meat here and after our 4th meat we were just left waiting for more. Never coming back because the waiter had the audacity to chase us out the restaurant and ask why we tipped so low.

One hell of a burger and fry’s the best I’ve had in a long time.. eaten there for 4 days str8 on a business trip and was wonderful every dish

Their Rodizio was excellent. I even ate numerous chicken hearts on a dare. So if you are not into chicken hearts, they have plenty of other grilled meats.

Wow, it is amazing to me how many restaurants in Jersey are just awful but manage to get good reviews. Fernandes is a perfect example. To begin with, the place is in a 'hood. Maybe not the 'hood, but its not a place you would call even remotely scenic or romantic. Its also a mystery how you enter with several doors, corridors, and an outdoor beer garden to navigate before you find the service desk, like a plywood maze. Secondly, the place is dirty. Glassware dirty, silver ware dirty (and scratched and ancient), brown tile floor dirty, hospital green table cloths, just not clean. It's also dark and very loud. The food is awful. We ordered skirt steak, veal and a shell steak. The steaks were full of gristle (I literally could not cut it with the knife provided, and had to spit out a big hunk of cartilage), the veal was tough too, and none of it tasted even remotely fresh. The menu is huge, which should be a big clue, I'm guessing they have a huge refrigerator out back where they store various cuts until they turn putrid. Everything was served with the same steamed veg, homemade potato chips, and some mystery brown rice that tasted awful. We saw other tables drinking Sangria served in plastic jugs, I kid you not. I've had plenty of good Portuguese food and this was nothing even remotely like good. Halfway through the meal our daughter got sick and had to leave the table. My wife went with her. I had to wait a half hour and ask for the check three times before I could get out of there. And then, last but not least, there are the prices. $127 for dinner for three with no drinks but water. Three entrees and a shared appetizer. For that amount of money is it too much to ask that the place be clean, the food edible, and the service competent?

Unquestionably the best burgers in this corner of New Jersey, with an atmosphere so friendly you'd think you weren't in Newark.
