Ordered takeout from here tonight, all things I've had before. Po boy looks fine but NE clam chowder had a think later of oil or butter and the cream beneath was separated. Onion rings burnt. Huge bummer since they were so good before.

My husband and I went for lunch, we were pleased to find out they have lunch specials. You can get selected entrees with either a soup, salad or beverage. I got it with the soup, a cup of lobster bisque, very pretty but I didn't capture a photo. I wouldn't get the bisque with a sandwich again because although tasty, it's very creamy, very heavy and it filled me up so I couldn't enjoy my sandwich as much. Next time, I'll combo the beverage. My husband very much enjoyed his lobster roll, it was very good.

Everything was very very tasty. Service and price was fair. Would like to try a few. Other dishes next time in.

The servers were very friendly and cordial the food was great but had slightly a bit too much grease. Don't get me wrong the food wasn't greasy but I don't eat a lot of fried food. The food was great overall. The restaurant was clean and if you ever want to know if you should eat somewhere look in the corners. Their corners were clean. Overall 8.4 out of 10

This place is coasting on its reputation long enough and the truth needs to be told. The food is just average at best. They never give you a proper estimation of the time to come for your pick up order. I have been here for over a half an hour after the time I was told to arrive without the order being ready and still nowhere in sight (yet, somehow, 5 people who arrived after me with orders called in after mine were given their food before me), and they are doing absolutely nothing to show any level of concern about customer service. For what it's worth, I was the second person tonight who canceled their order and got their credit card voided due to the horrendous service. Go anywhere else. Its a mistake to go here unless you enjoy sitting in a room that has a very hard smell with average to below average food at a level of customer service that one would expect from a prison guard. It's a shame they don't let you give this place either zero stars or a negative star number.

We have been coming to Jack's for years. My wife loves lobster and they prepare it perfectly. The owner Greg waited on us so we asked him why the name change from Jack's Seafood Shack to Jack's Surf and Turf. He said that they take pride in their non seafood entree's and hoped the name change would encourage customers to try them. So I ordered their burger and it was excellent. It was just as good if not better than the gourmet burger places in Montclair. Next visit my wife will still probably order the lobster (no restaurant does it better) but I will order something other than their seafood offerings. Also appreciate the fact that the owner, Greg was working the floor and interacting with the customers.

When I want a great "lobster roll" I drive an hour and a half down to point pleasant and go to the Atlantic Offshore Fishery....easily the best lobster rolls on earth......until now, that is Last night my wife and I thought we'd give this local place "a shot".... 9 minutes later, with plentiful parking (you can park in the museum parking lot - - just 30 feet away), we were there and the place is EASYYYY. Not crazy-hectic, spacious tables, pleasant waiter and staff, clean and attentive. The lobster roll, although a tad smaller than point pleasants, was just as good or perhaps even a tad better than ol'reliable Atlantic Offshore Fishery The local convenience factor is immense (9 minutes vs 90 minutes)....the parking is ridiculously easy.... the STEAMERS are delicious and large (ok - -they could give you a little more broth - - which i will ask for next time). The chowder is TREMENDOUS My only hesitation in leaving this beautiful review that i hope it doesnt get too TOO crowded now, because this IS my "pearl in the sand" which i just found!

The BEST lobster rolls in NJ! Also if you haven't tried their lobster bisque, it's delicious

Omg!!! The food here is EXCELLENT!!! From the outside you would think it's a crab shack but when you sit down and open that menu...baby you're in for a REAL treat!!! The Lobster grill cheese and the lobster bisque are A1! The sangria mocktails are AWESOME!!! To make things even better was the service!! Our server was really great with the recommendations and he was great!

The ambiance was cool and the service was a little slow, but the food left much to be desired. I had what was supposedly a crab cake, Maine Lump Crab Cake at that. It was a bunch of breading on a bed of tomatoes in a balsamic glaze. I don't even know what the green stuff was supposed to be, but none of the flavors, which were all awful separately, went together. The truffle flies had no truffle flavor. The lobster bisque had what tasted like imitation crab meat on it and was just meh. The only thing that was good wasn't even made there. The Maine Root Blueberry Soda was delish.

Not much new to say, just wanted to add more recent photos from the last visit. Seeing as how my family goes here every year for my mom's birthday, we clearly enjoy it. The food and service are consistently grea

I don't know if it's me and I don't know how to order or the food but the lobster roll I ordered (Connecticut style) was a bit underwhelming. The lobster tasted very dry and I had to mash in the coleslaw in order to finish it. The truffle fries were good though and they gave a lot but I was here primarily for the lobster roll. Maybe next time I'll try the lobster mac and cheese? lobster bisque? I dunno...I feel like I expected to be amazed after not having lobster rolls in YEARS. And the weird thing about all these places is they don't serve alcohol (except maybe wine). Where are the beers?!

The Connecticut style lobster rolls here are really good. Nice amount of lobster in each roll. The lobster bisque is delicious. The waitress was always checking to see if we needed anything. Very nice chill spot. Overall a good experience here.
