It took 20 minutes to get a glass of wine after ordering. We had to chase our waitress down in order to pay. I even offered to leave my phone number to pay as I never saw such bad service. No one refilled our waters the entire time there. Food is good but the experience doesn’t live up.

This place is the absolute worst, They are lucky there’s nothing below one star I would have rated them a minus. Who tf charges a 17% percent compulsory tip and to top it all we pay a 3% fee for using a debit card????, Go if you have free money to

My second time to this resturant and I will go again. Very good all the way around. Had a goat appetizer that was excellent. I had the vegetarian lentils and they were supper. Had the lamb chops for our main dish. Everything was cooked to perfection, but the lamb chops were definitely way too salty for us. I would recommend this restaurant it’s really good and when we go back again, we Will ask for way less salt on the lamb chops. Enjoy.Vegetarian options: I had the lentels. Very good.

We went to NJPAC for a concert and decided to have dinner beforehand. We saw this place across the street, checked the menu to make sure that all of us are able to have something, since I have a special diet for about 7 month now,, due to some health issues and decided to stay and have a meal, since the menu and selections looked amazing and suitable for all of us. This place is absolutely incredible and the food tastes, the atmosphere, presentation and service are top notch. Very happy that we decided to try this place.I had lentil in coconut stew with which comes with choice of two sides, which I chose from the sides menu. I had basmati rice and mashed potatoes with mashed peas and corn. Since I can't have corn, I put it aside, but the rest was incredible and so tasty. My wife had a chicken dish. She said that even though it was chicken breast, it was very juicy, not at all dry or overcooked, but cooked to perfection. She also decided on basmati rice and had plantains, which I tried, which was also all delicious. I couldn't try the chicken, but she is usually very critical or chicken dishes and loved it. She said it had a great taste to it, nice spice and absolutely delicious. Our son had a beef dish. It was like chunks of beef stewed and he also had same side as me, mashed potatoes and peas with plantains. He loved it as well. My wife tried his dish, since I couldn't and said the the take was incredible. All was absolutely delicious and we are so excited to try it again and come back in the near future. There was some music playing and the ambience is so beautiful, it is a very large in size place, but feels extremely nice and cozy. Loved it and highly recommend it.Vegetarian options: There are not that many, but a few great tasting vegetarian options. They also have a bean dish that the waitress highly recommended, so next time, maybe I will try that, but loved the lentils dish so much that it will be difficult to decide.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at here, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience. The ambiance was lively, with fantastic music that perfectly complemented the vibrant atmosphere. The food was simply exquisite, with each dish bursting with flavor and expertly prepared. From savory appetizers to delectable entrees, every bite was a delight. The service was impeccable, with attentive staff who made sure our every need was met. Overall, it exceeded my expectations in every way, and I cannot wait to return for another unforgettable evening of great music, delicious food, and exceptional service.

Just had dinner there last night, the rice was overcooked, chicken breast dry as ever. Sorry but nothing was good last night, it usually is better.

This was our first time trying Swahili food and it was so incredible. We had the Swahili basket to start, which was a great way to sample the Samosa, sausage and breaded potato. For our main course, we ordered beef and the chicken breast. Each main course comes with two sides, so we got the joulaf rice, spinach, breaded banana and flatbread. We loved the decorations and Kenyan radio playing in the background. Our server was so nice and helpful. This place is definitely worth a visit if you're in Newark!!
