Awesome Customer Service! I had to ask if they were really in New Jersey because they took so much care in taking my order. The oxtail are super tender and lots of gravy! Best wishes to this place!

Ordered through Uber eats and it took a while to arrive but well worth the wait! The blackened salmon was delicious and well cooked; my friend ordered the turkey chops. He's VERY picky but thought they were one of the best turkey chops he's ever had. My sides were the creamy spinach and rice with peas. I've had pretty bad creamy spinach in the past so my standards were really low. To my surprise their spinach was nothing like I tried before; the right amount of creaminess and not salty. It was very tasty! The rice was also delicious.

The food is not bad . Their greens are always too salty , but the macaroni and fried chicken is decent . The wings are salty too . Plus they made me wait 2 hours for my order cause the girl " didn't know " I called back to fix something and they kept lying and said it was almost ready . And the food was not hot like they claimed it was going to be after all that time . So no I never went back and I won't

I can guarantee you that this is one of the best places to eat at in Newark. The food is always fresh and customer service is topnotch! You guys represent Newark very well. I highly recommend this place to all who's considering.

While the Kettle Fried Chicken was fried well, it severely lacks salt and seasoning. The Pollo Guisado was over cooked and it was simply uneatable. The Hoppin’ John was missing flavor, the corn came from a can, the rice was eh, and the cornbread was burnt at the bottom that it should have never made it for sale. The highlights were the Baked Mac N’ Cheese, the Garlic & Herb Sauce and the portion size and packaging is on point but it didn’t matter as I couldn’t continue eating much of anything.

I just ordered tonight from DoorDash and it is delicious. My family is from the south so I know southern food and this is it. The Mac and cheese is just like grandma’s and the collard greens are delicious. Well seasoned food. This is my new go-to. I know someone’s grandma is back there cooking.

I was near the area and wanted to give this place a try. I ordered online the southern baked chicken, collard and cabbage mix and yellow rice and it said about 30 to 40 minutes and it came to $14.66. I arrived at the restaurant about 20 minutes later and walked in and a few people were waiting. The nice young man Jay said it wasn't ready. As I waiting the line got longer and longer. I waited about 40 more minutes for my food. The wait was ridiculous and the communication was terrible. Yes the server was very nice but that wait will keep me from returning. When it was done I grabbed my food and uptown and left.As I drove home I drank some of the uptown and it was ok. When I got home and ate the baked chicken was good and so was the yellow rice. The collard greens and cabbage was a bit salty. All in all I only had an ok experience.

I ordered from this restaurant on Uber eats. The food is absolutely delicious. The spinach was heaven. You have to taste the shrimp n grits. If I could give this establishment 100 stars I would! Support local business and eat deliciously. ❤️

I ordered from this restaurant from Uber Eats on a whim. I had no prior knowledge or experience with the establishment. Very pleasantly surprised. The order was delivered on time and still hot. The food was well-prepared and delicious. This was a delightful treat for a stranger in Newark.
