Always busy. Today it was packed - no seats available

Food from the lounge sucks during COVID... . The turkey gouda wrap was horrible, Tortellini Salad, also horrible... vegan farro salad . Cheese plate "just okay". The friggen bean burrito was actually the best thing and that's thanks to the hot sauce... come on United. You can do better.

Come on United....This lounge at C74 is pathetic! You didn't even try. What United is trying to say is "Don't bother coming up, eat downstairs, we don't really want you back post covid". The space is ok, spacious, and it has big windows looking down on all the bustling bars & restaurants serving real food and drink. Meanwhile the lounge threw out some hard boiled eggs, coconut yogurt (no other flavors), canned fruit in tiny plastic containers, some plastic cereal containers, a completely steamed mushy egg biscuit, and dry plastic wrapped bagels without a toaster to use. It was awful! By contrast, the LAX United lounge on the way here was filled with nice, gourmet self serve food, still following COVID grab n go protocol, but making it lounge worthy and nice. Get your act together Newark! United should have the same level of service in all their lounges.

Nothing special. Mediocre food, best item were the hot pockets. Macaroni salad was disappointing. Check in people were nice but rest of service was slow. Dingey atmosphere.

Due to Covid the main club is closed so we went to the smaller club in Terminal C. A little different. No views of the flights arriving and departing and a smaller amount of seating. There were plenty of work stations as well as charger and electric outlets. A full bar as well as soft drinks and coffee and tea available. All food is wrapped which is the proper way to do things these days. Plenty of cookies, cheese and crackers, humus, salads, drudire available as well as soup and noodles. There are bathrooms in the rear of lounge. As usual the check in attendants are not so helpful.

Down hill since covid all plastic cup for drinks. Very dirty not disinfecting tables. The food selections the worst at any hub extremely limited only consisting of chips, cup of noodles bags of carrots and rice crispy treats.

I am a "Global Services" member of United, having been enslaved to them for 20 years. The lounges have always been crowded, poor food/wine, and generally miserable. A few years ago they closed down one of the lounges to make it exclusively for international travelers, with the promise of a new one being built elsewhere in the airport. To date (after 2+(?) years), still not open. "COVID" continues to be the excuse, but I would argue that NOW is the time to be working on is. United is terrible overall. Most lounges in the major airports are "temporarily closed". Most of the Delta Airlines lounges are open.

Shocking that this is actually an EXTRA expenditure for most people and included in the overpriced business flights. Walked in hoping for some light refreshments (soup, salad, finger sandwiches, etc...) and saw the only food table that consisted of bagged chips and 2 fruit options (apples and oranges). There was also instant cup of ramen but being vegetarian, I couldn't eat it. But regardless, this is ridiculous. I got in from my ticket but I'd never pay for this on its own. Way easier to grab food on your own, find a quiet gate, and head to your own gate closer to boarding. This United Club is insulting to all of us who spent money to be here. I understand it's covid but they don't need to put out a buffet! But finger foods, wrapped, or more options than bagged chips(!!) would've gone a long way. Staff is very friendly and helpful but even they can't make up for this poor excuse for a lounge.

Club has upgraded it's food selection during the pandemic. Drinks are also available now in the morning.

The check in clerk was terribly rude with my family. He never said hello, treated us like things, and we are paying for this. My wife had to pull out her pass from the phone app and had to remove the mask for literally 5 seconds. He immediately shouted “you have to wear your mask!” The other clerk had to tell him that my wife was using it to face id. Never apologized. Not worthy.

The Newark United Club is challenged. The main issue is too many people and too few places to sit. At times it can feel more crowded than the terminal. The idea behind the Clubs is that they are to be a place to relax and often it is not relaxing at the Newark location. I believe they try their best to keep up with the food but the bar area is much smaller than some of the other clubs with double the people. Nothing is easy in the NYC/EWR area so this is just more of the same.

Disappointing...Covid 19 makes it even more dismal. Staff is great. Club is dreadful.

2 stars because every time I've been to both clubs my experiences didn't totally suck (although I can understand why so many people have.) At least the wine and beer was free and I was able to find a seat every time. The C-3 club (built in 2001) and is now a Polaris Lounge was actually halfway decent as it had a ton of seating space and great views of NYC. One time I was there on a free pass flying on a very delayed flight to Miami in 2012 with a buddy and we got cut off by this nasty Russian bartender for having too many drinks (to be honest we weren't very drunk either.) Like I said, unless your flying Polaris, you can't even access this space anymore. It's gone. Therefore, everyone now has to cram into the old C-2 lounge (or use the "Pop Up" Club which is a joke.) Back when it was a Continental President's Club it was in OK shape through around the early 2000s. Once it became a United Club, they invested very little in the actual surroundings and it became a crowded, dated dump. Staff here have always been rather rude even going back to the Continental days. I do like the 1980s-style black toilets in the Men's room though. They are apparently building a massive club in the C-3 wing which is going to be amongst the largest in the network. So hang in there I guess.

United clubs here sucks. During the 'rona they think it's okay to serve bags of food to include chips and cookies for dinner. I think I saw some ramen cups. I couldn't eat anything due to my dietary restrictions. Even the piece of fruit they had was an apple. My two front teeth would have ended right back into it thanks to my veneers Breakfast was slightly better with cookies, individual hard boiled eggs, and yogurt. Still not worth coming here in my opinion. I guess you can enjoy the free limited booze with your pass. The facility wasn't super big and can definitely see overcrowding issues pre and post 'rona.
