“As a big fan of Turkish cuisine, I was glad to discover this place on my radar. We ordered Lentil Soup, Lahmacun, and Hummus, followed by Baklava paired with Turkish Tea for dessert. Every dish was delicious, and the portions were generous. The atmosphere of the place is laid-back, complemented by welcoming and friendly staff. It's definitely earned a spot on my list of favorite places.“
“Came here at 8:30 on a Friday night with my family and the place was surprisingly empty. Ahmed, the owner, gave us a warm welcome and prompt service. He gave us several recommendations (we ordered them all) and every dish was great. We got the branzino, the lamb chops, the half grilled chicken, hummusand mishwia. While every dish was truly tasty, my two favorites were the branzino and mishwia. I told Ahmed it was my parents anniversary and he gave us tea and baklava on the house. I would highly recommend this spot to anyone. The food, the hospitality, and the service is top notch.“
“My friend and I came here for lunch, and neither one of us had ever been here before. The block that this restaurant is in is not the fanciest on Samson Street but don’t let it deter you from trying this restaurant. If you’re looking for something different with a Middle Eastern flavor, you have to try this restaurant. the price is right and the food is taste fresh with clean ingredients. Unfortunately, I took no pictures but I had the steam dumplings and my luncheon partner had a wrap that she raved about.Wheelchair accessibility: There are no steps into the restaurant.“
“This is one of my favorite falafel places. The falafel is crispy on the outside, they're generous with humus and vegetables, and the bread is just a little thinner and less gummy than other places. They have lots of other items on the menu. I like their samosas but still have to try more.“
“Halal cart in front of cvs.Delicious food and extremely affordable. On top of that, the owner is extremely friendly and hospitable with all his customers. When I initially started coming here he was nice enough to let me sample some proteins and even gave me a falafel in my platter one day when I asked about it.~8 bucks for a flavorful yet filling plate of food with a drink is a crazy deal in these times especially when you’re not wanting spend too much and need something quick but satisfying.Fish, falafel, lamb, or chicken all have been delicious whether you get them on rice or wrapped in pita. Make sure to get white green and red sauce if you like spicy. Wishing this cart continued success and will miss it when I move out of SP.“
“We came at iftar time during Ramadan so the place was so crowded. We decided to order for take out however we managed to get a table but the food was already packed.I would like to give another try for the lamb Haneeth & Fahsa since it wasn’t that tasty. The lentils soup and Areka were delicious. The service is 10 out of 5 they were very welcoming and friendly. Even while they were swamped with work but they managed to pay attention to their customers professionally.Great atmosphere and authentic Yemeni food. Hopefully I will have to pay a visit after Ramadan. The overall experience is great.“
“I decided to order dinner from this decent restaurant for the first time on 3/8/24. When I say it was finger licking good; there is no lie in that. I ordered through DoorDash and my driver was quick with delivery service. When I received my food everything was as described from the menu. Everything was also a first try except the Naan, which is one of my favorites when it comes to Indian cuisine. The Quail was exquisite especially paired with the Turmeric spices; that's one dish I will be ordering again. Lastly the "tasty" Pakoras. I didn't know a dish like this existed until ordering from Indian Char House. Another favorite of mine. If you are looking for a decent dine in, be sure to give Indian Char House a try!“
“Wow I was in the mood for Indian food my my my I googled and found I rode right by the stand but bets believe I bust a u turn I got the butter chicken combo for $9 and a piece of garlic naan I must say that u turn was worth it and there was other first time customers out there they googled the best Indian food in the area boom ?there it was I will be going back with my husband he loves lamb since I don’t eat spicy Nafi made my order fresh to order very polite awesome customer service friendly environment reasonable prices and nice big portions he also takes Venmo, Apple Pay ,Cash app I would highly recommend this business for the the best Indian food truck very tender chicken if I could give 10⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️I would thanks Nafi for your service I will be spreading the word?️?️?️?️?️“
“I have been to my fair share of Halal trucks in Philly. This has proven to be my favorite. Some would claim they are all the same but the consistent quality of this location is what puts it above the rest. Comb over rice, extra red sauce. At least once a week.“
“They had a special deal going on all day today, and I Got a free chicken gyro. I live close by and i had been thinking of trying it out ever since it opened up and finally went today since it was free, and have to say I was impressed. It was delicious and well prepared. Quick service and like I said, free, lol so couldn’t have asked for more. Thank you guys that were out there working & preparing food for free all day! I will be sure to tip a little bit the next time. ??????“
“This is one of my favorite restaurants in the neighborhood. It is a special place. Everything I have tried has been delicious. It is somewhere I take guests visiting from out of town and also what I order as delivery for myself if I am not feeling well- the soups and the spiciness of the dishes really help! The bread is so good.“
“Forgot to take a picture because I was too excited to try this place! I got the Main #4 to try a slider and a tender + fries. The guys working were super helpful and kind with my indecisiveness. They actually let me try one thing at the medium and one thing at the screamin spice level for the things I got. (I went with a medium slider and screamin tender). They put ghost pepper in the screamin' spice, so its definitely spicy, but so good . I do have a really high spice tolerance and i'll describe it as on the same level as the samyang buldak ramen (iykyk). The slider was also great. The slaw does well to mask the medium spice and pickles were super fresh. The fries have a spice mix on them as well but they're not spicy, more like cajun seasoning. Note: I would recommend eating there if you can for the best crunch factor. Overall, I really enjoyed everything I got, and I would definitely come back with some friends that can handle their spice.“
“I’ve come here multiple times in the past decade and the chaat and lassi never fail to hit the spot. I got a fig lassi and a paneer chaat, both were so refreshing and the owner is so kind and hospitable. While this spot is not in a great location, the lassis and food make it worth it!!!“
“I love shopping here, their meats are fresh, ORGANIC and zabiha. I’m not much of lunch meat eater , but when I do, Prime Halal Meat Market is where I go! Theirs is always fresh and not to mention the tips they give you on the best way to prepare some of their meats. I highly recommend this market. I give them 10 ⭐️ the rating words of my grandson Jace !“
“My boyfriend and I used to live right around the corner from Pasha’s and loved it for lunch or a delicious, filling dinner. We moved to a different part of the city but went tonight for takeout. Not only was the food delicious (falafel is always so incredible) and the portions are huge, they remembered me when I walked in the door! They asked me how I was, asked about my partner, and even let us take one of their delicious desserts as an extra! It put such a huge smile on my face!Would absolutely recommend to anyone in the area, 10/10 food AND service!“
“Hey there! Thanks for letting me join you on this food truck journey. I must say, I'm impressed with the attention to detail in your food truck. Everything looks so fresh and delicious. I must say, I agree with everyone who says your food is the best in Philadelphia. Your food is so flavorful and cooked to perfection. I can't wait to try some of your special sauce. As someone who loves gyros, I'm always on the lookout for the best ones in town. And I'm excited to hear that your food truck is the best in Philadelphia. I can't wait to try your signature gyro, which is made with freshly grilled meat, homemade tzatziki, and so much more. It's like a feast for your taste buds.I love how you take pride in using only the freshest ingredients and cooking everything from scratch. It's clear that you put a lot of love and attention into every bite of your food. That's what sets you apart from other food trucks out there. So, if you're looking for the best food truck in Philadelphia, my vote goes to This is the king gyro food truck. I guarantee you won't be disappointed!“
“This is a little gem restaurant in South Jersey. The food is authentic cuisine from Afghanistan. The owner is very hospitable and kind. I was satisfied with my order of lamb shank qabeli palaw. We will return to try some different menu items. Thanks for a great experience! ??“
“I would give this place an infinite amount of stars if it were possible. When me and my friends lived around here, we loved hitting this Halal cart up on Friday nights. We even made the occasional pilgrimage there once we lived in separate places around Philly.Majit (and later Salman) always whipped up the freshest food, had a smile on their face, and were glad to talk with us. Salt of the earth. If you like Halal you owe it to yourself to get in front of the Fishtown Planet Fitness and order a lamb/falafel combo platter with your sauces of choice.“
“Service was slow but, it was worth the wait. Great taste. They missed 2 things. A glass with ice was not received, didn't get the boneless lamb in my order. But, don't let that stopped you from eating there. I can't imagine what they go through to get everything perfect. Overall the food and service was “
“Definitely the best Halal Cart on campus. Even though there are other carts near my building, I will specifically walk to this one to get Chicken Over Rice. Flavor is always on point and the size is just right. The two guys that operate the truck are always so nice and friendly.“
“Great spot to have some very good authentic Indian food. Made with love you can tell they care about the final product! Owners are also very kind and helpful if you need any help deciding what to get and offering suggestions for something new to try!“
“Without a doubt the best gyro I have had. Very unique spicing and sauce. I strongly suggest having it over a pita. My son had a chicken tender, which was freshly fried, and he enjoyed it very much. The counter service is friendly and helpful, and they went out of our way to make my son comfortable.Highly recommended!“
“I haven’t even left the parking lot yet and I have to start writing a review! I stopped in after a long day of running around for work and grabbed a falafel wrap. All I can say is wow! This meal absolutely blew me away!!! The falafel was moist, well seasoned, and flavorful! I will without a doubt be back.“
“I was traveling from NJ and got a meal for myself and the family. The chicken was very tender and extremely flavorful. The rice was also very fragrant and fresh. The portion size was also generous. I really liked the taste. I also tried lamb gyro and that was also very delicious. Everyone loved it.“
“I don't leave a lot of reviews but I had to leave a review for this restaurant. My family and I had the best meal ever from this establishment. We ordered their salmon cheese steak which was absolutely amazing. We ordered their lobster cheese steak. We also ordered their fish tacos and chicken fingers with the side of mac and cheese and greens and I can just tell you that everything was so flavorful. Everything was so good. We will definitely be returning to this establishment. My husband and I was surprised to learn that this place has only been open for 7 months. We're definitely looking forward to enjoying their food again, and we can definitely see an expansion in this restaurant's future, hopefully with a dine in section.“
“Knew I wanted shawarma but not sure what meat, my options were chicken or lamb. Never been to Pita Pocket before so i let the person assisting me choose which meat, whichever one is better i said, he said 1/2 and 1/2. YES PLEASE!Service was amazing everyone was sooooo helpful & amazing! I appreciate it so much. The only thing that I did not like was the customers that were in there when I was, it made me really uncomfortable but the staff made me more comfortable & definitely will be coming back again!I did take a few pictures of inside and things for a POV but the only thing i did not get was a picture of the food prepared and when it was finished but I do have a picture of what my plate looked like AFTER ?Parking: Its a gas station, convenience store.“
“This may be, a little food truck on the side of the road on campus. But they are so sweet. And their cheesesteaks are so good.Vegetarian options: This is not a vegetarian option but i just wanted to say that this is halal foods so they already serve meals inclusive for certain diets. And i think thats just grand“
“This truck hits the spot! They give you SO much food for an affordable price and it's so freaking good!!! Falafel over rice forever! One of my favorite foods of all time. The guys there are super nice too. I'd go everyday if I lived in the city. Thank you for such great food! ?“
“Still there - Still just $5 (for lunch WITH a drink - I get a bottle of water) - Still as good as you can expect for street-cart food. I get the lamb over Salad with "white sauce" - and it is plenty of food for lunch. And - it's five bucks!“
“One of the best, if not the best, Halal food cart in the area. More seasoned then other carts I've tried. Their white sauce is certainly better then the other cart up the road. This cart also doesn't serve the yellow Dye rice which is served by its competitors. They have the best combo platter and lamb in the area. Highly recommended!!!!“
“I have gone here for years and one time I didn't realize they didn't take card and the man let me take my food and pay him back next time. The food here is always top notch, the service is always friendly and they do not cheap out on the meat.“
“I visited the truck during my lunch break to pick up lunch for me and my mother. We both got the chicken over rice with the salad. The man in the truck was very nice and personable. The person in front of me ordered six plates, and he served them promptly. When it was my turn order, he greeted me warmly and served the food fairly quickly. The food is delicious and the portions are great, the meal comes with a drink as well. it's a plentiful serving because I only ate half for dinner and had the other half the next day for lunch and it was just as delicious. I think overall, you can't beat the delectable taste with the price. 10/10“
“Just so that you know it is a street cart and not a brick and mortar place. This kind of places remind me my old days when I used to work in one of this during my master in NJ. Food was ok and prices are always reasonable in such a cart. Chicken could have been more chopped and juicy. Overall it was a decent lunch.“
“Legit best food cart I've ever had. Far superior to NYC famous carts which have long since lost their luster. The chicken is marinated in a smoky cumin/coriander based masala which never fails to satisfy. I usually get chicken or chicken + lamb over rice. Both the white and red sauces are an excellent accompaniment. Bonus, ask for chickpeas if they have them!“
“The food is amazing and the salad is super fresh. I’m not a big fan of fish but the fish here is great. The prices are amazing and the bev is included with your meal. The guys that work it are super friendly and greet me with “brother!” even if I am just walking to by to ALDIs.“
“Drove by this market the other day and decided to stop. So many interesting items. The staff working are very pleasant. We had questions about some of the items and they were happy to explain and give opinions. We love Turkish cuisine and are always up to trying new things. The prices were very reasonable. The butcher/meat area had wonderful looking fresh meats. We didn't plan this trip and were heading somewhere else afterwards, so we didn't pick up any meats, but will be coming back to try some. In the back is the bakery and a little place to sit. We purchased a coffee and a pide. We sat down to have a few bites of it, and it was very good. The dough had a little crispness and soft chew and very good flavor. We also grabbed a turkish cherry soda, which was very light and refreshing. We ended up buying a lot of items including a case of the soda. We definitely will be back.“
“Tried it for the first time today, had the chicken kebab hoagie and it was SO DELICIOUS. I thought it would just kind of be like every other chicken over rice gyro spot, but it was way, way more flavorful. The bread was great too. Really flawless sandwich. My only regret is walking by it so many times without trying it. I'll definitely be back.“
“Approximately about 10 years ago, that's the first time I had try Halal food. The only thing I remember about it that it cost $5 for the platter and a drink. Recently I've heard a lot of great things about Asad's Chicken on Cottman and Boulevard. And Percy's Chicken on Frankford. First I went to Percy's, it was shut down by Health Department(ceased of operation paper). Then I went to Asad's, the line is ridiculously long and they only served sliders and smoothies. We decided to drive a little to Khan's Halal Food. It was empty when we arrived, but that didn't stop us from dinning in. We decided to get Khan's #2 and Chicken Over Rice. The Chicken over Rice was our favorite. The meat wasn't dry or stringy. They weren't stingy on the white creamy sauce. Everything in that platter mix very well together including the brown rice, lettuce and the cucumbers. Khan's #2 gives 2 sliders and fries. I had paid extra for cheese fries. The two sliders meats were very juicy. Even though I ask for hot(one lower spice than extra hot), it wasn't spicy at all. The only thing that I was hoping they do carry is fruit smoothies. Because both Asad's and Percy's carry those smoothies. Unfortunately, Khan's only have sodas, lemonade, iced tea, and half&half.“
“Fast, tasty, fresh, and a couple dollars less than the competition. Very friendly couple of guys running the cart.Had the lamb chicken combo salad and picked up a fish over rice platter for my husband. He said the quality of the fish was the best he's ever had from a cart. I enjoyed my combo but the lamb was definitely the tastier of the proteins and super tender. I'll probably go lamb only next time.“
“The food is delicious! I love the chicken gyro and my husband raves about the lamb over rice. The fries were surprisingly crispy and tasty, too! (Usually fries don't travel very well, but they are good!) The prices are so affordable. The staff are friendly and accommodating. The indoor seating area is like a typical small pizzeria with booths. We were very excited to find this place! A+++“
