“DQ Old Tappan serves the best Chocolate and Vanilla ice cream, and their peanut butter milkshakes are simply divine. Good flavor — they have bags of Idaho potatoes at the front door— but mediocre at best based on how they’re prepared. For example, Wendy’s has a similar cut but they’re crispy, McDonald’s is thinner and crispier, etc. Fries are terrible for you so if I’m gonna blow calories on em, I want them to be worth itI’d like to see a grilled chicken sandwich on the menu — I realize this is a chain brand but adding a little more variety and lower-calorie options to the menu would be nice. For comparison, Smashburger and Habit have grilled optionsThis location is within a shopping plaza with tons of parking and easy access. I drove from Rockland County and it was an easy drive. I went in December but it appears there’s outdoor seating in warmer weather. The staff was friendly and delivered the orders to our table. There’s plenty of seating, the location was clean, they have some TVs and a Coca-Cola fountain along with lemonade and Gold Peak teas. Every table had a bottle of Heinz ketchup and napkins, which was nice. There is a chicken tender sandwich but it’s not actually shown on the in-store menu above the register, which is confusing. Staff is friendly.The two (2) complaints that take away a star:Definitely coming back here, but not as often as I would like, because it’s kinda pricey. $30 for two (2) scoops on a cone; and 2 midsized cups.Employees need to wear restaurant caps to cover their heads when serving; specially while styling long/braided hair. “Cookies looked so good we forgot to take a picture of the actual box of cookies we ordered. We got the box of four, Kitchen Sink, Stuffed Nutella, S’mores & OG Chunk. All the cookies were super fresh; hard but soft outside with a gooey warm inside..YUM! My favorite was the OG Chunk (had some sea salt on top) and the stuffed nutella. The kitchen sink was also very good especially with the potato chips but I just wish it didn’t have caramel drizzle on top. Definitely want to come again to try other flavors, but one thing I did have a problem with is the political views on the outside of the door. I do wish I noticed before walking in but I think political views on the outside of a cookie store is not necessary. Other than that, great cookies!“

“Some of the best tacos I've had on the East coast. These are on par with California and Texas tacos. Most of the tacos in NYC and NY and terrible, but not Los Ferchos. This is a great family run deli, with the whole family helping to make super authentic tacos in the back. “My only complaint is that the lone worker today, when I was paying with a credit card (without tap) took my card and tried to use tap. Before she took my card I was going to put it into the card processor. When I pointed out that it doesn’t have tap, she (2x’s) typed my card information into the register screen and it was declined (plenty of credit was available because I got gas with it shortly after). I then used my debit card which she just took from me and again tried to use tap (again not a feature on that card either). She was finally able to put my card information for the debit card and it went through. If she had let me put my card in in the first place there would have been no problem with the original transaction attempt. I feel some of the staff might need better/more training on using the register.“

Even if you aren't in Piermont or from there, I highly recommend going to and trying out some of their ice cream and/or shakes. They both are equally amazing, they too are very quick with their work and it is ALL homemade ice cream and even their waffle cones (which are amazing too.) And yes the prices are a bit high, but that's because the ice cream is homemade.“

Never go wrong with a Patty Melt( it was taken off the menu for a while but happy to see it back) , a fishamajig melt, or a BBQ tenders melt. This place is very different from other Dairy Queens - the ice cream is much better tasting, sundaes are better, blizzards taste better. We got to sit and enjoy chatting with him while eating our ice creams, and our son even get seconds after deciding he'd like to try a milkshake- something he doesn't get to do often due to his severe peanut allergy. We are so thankful for peanut free stores such as this, where our son can be comfortable and have a moment of normalcy. If we didn't like 1.5 hrs away, we would visit at least weekly.
