Service was really slow and workers were not attentive at all. Got wrong dishes. It seemed like many workers but no teamwork

These people do not know how to cook and expensive to boot. Learn to coom your dishes and maybe youll be worth the price.

Ordered the spicy chicken dish with cheese and the (marinated short ribs). Both dishes were pretty decent. Nothing to write home about. Spicy chicken came with rice cakes, cabbage, and cheese for $4 extra and had a pretty decent flavor profile. Spicy, savory, maybe needed more chicken for the price. Galbi was as it should be. Sweet, savory, but the meat needed more of a char. Nonetheless, was a decent meal! Side dishes that came included were fine as we! Cheers!

Came for a late dinner and beware, their kitchen closes much earlier than you think. I've worked in restaurant industry before and haven't really heard of kitchen closing more than an hour from closing time. We didn't get to eat dinner to late. Walked in and got seated at 9:40 pm and was told the kitchen closes at 9:45 pm. Even though they close at 11 pm. So we were thankful that we got in. We ordered the Dakkalbi with sweet potato and cheese added and it was good. It was a little strange that the dakkalbi was precooked before bringing it out to our bbq grill and the sweet potato mixed in was not cooked and still hard. So I ended up picking at everything else but the sweet potato and waited for the sweet potato to cook before we cook eat it. I think next time I will just get it without the sweet potato. We did the fried rice at the end too. Good banchan too! Just look at the steamed egg! Pretty good!

We ordered the chicken galbi and it was really good but I would say there is a lot more vegetable than meat. Which I get and is expected but you really had to look for the meat to get it, otherwise you were mainly just eating vegetables and cheese.

My friend recommended me this place and I had to go and try it. WOW, the food was amazing and enough to feed 4 people. It has to be one of my to-go places when asked about Korean food. This means a lot, especially being Korean, I am VERY picky since I make a lot of Korean food at home. Very worth the money

This is our first visit and it will be the last. I came in starving and highly expecting, the food are tasty and valuable and I always love Korean food, but the service were very rude. Many times I wanted to cancel the order and leave the store but my husband really wanted to try there food. The waiter know we can't finish the Dakgalbi but he didn't tell us in a nice way but sarcastic way at the end when we realized ourselves. There were only us two in store at the time, but nobody helped with packing up the leftovers. The background music was Korea song all the time, at the time of checking out, it was changed to the song named "abcdefu" which the lyrics is very nasty. I think the waiter is racist to us because we don't speak Korean? He provided very limited service, furthermore he sent a waitress for the check. She didn't say goodbye in a nice way. I am not a sensitive person, but their attitude makes me feel very bad, if they don't want serve people other than Korean, they should make a sign outside of the restaurant or on top of their menu. We tipped 18% even though we were very disappointed and felt offended, didn't want to act the same way they treated us. Will never come back to this place. I would strongly suggest to avoid this place if you're not Korean.

loved it. everything was high quality, and the service was top-notch. been twice now, once on a sunday for lunch, when it was pretty empty, and then for dinner on a friday about 6pm, when it was busier, but still no line. they specialize in pork kbbq and both times we got the pork special for 4, where you get a smattering of pork cuts, 2 soups (i think choice was kimchi or doenjang jiggae), and 2 steamed eggs (gyeran jjim). the pork cuts were pork belly (samgyupsal), pork shoulder (mok sal), pork jowl (hang jung sal), and marinated kalbi style pork ribs. it's quite a lot of food for 4 with a very reasonable price tag of $139.99. the side dishes are all delicious, and get replenished upon request. their scallion salad (pa muchim) is a little more on the sweet side, but it balances with the rich pork. i also like that they give the thinly sliced pickled daikon (moo). service is great, they cook everything for you and do a damn good job cooking up those delicious pork bites. they have a ton more on the menu, but generally i come here to satisfy my pork cravings. btw, their kimchi is bomb, really tasty, and made in-house. parking is awful - but that's true of everywhere in pal park. there is a dedicated garage under the restaurant, but it shares it with the stew restaurant on the first floor, so i've never seen an open spot there. you can try the muni lot across broad, but it tends to fill up quick, too. otherwise, it's street parking.

The jumuk rice (rice balls) and steamed egg was really good but the dakgalbi was not good at all- very bland not enough sugar, not enough soy sauce in the sauce and wayyyy too oily-perhaps the wrong cheese? Or too much of it. The worst part of the experience was the server who was rude and not attentive. Not sure if the pork belly is a better bet but I was turned off by their service I probably won't visit again.

Just realized that I haven't written a review for one of my go-to places for simply good Korean food. If anyone asks me for recommendations for a Korean restaurant, this is one of the places I always recommend, especially if you are craving spicy Korean food, this is the place! ***In a rush? Skip to the end for my tips.*** First of all, I think they have one of the best steamed egg side dish in Bergen County. I know, I know. This is a very bold statement to make, but if you have other contenders, let me know. This place is known for their dakgalbi, which is spicy chicken stir fry cooked in a cast iron pan. And, it's so good! You can choose the level of spiciness and it comes with sweet potato pieces and small rice cakes. You do pay extra for cheese, which is a must. It cuts down on the spiciness of the dish and gives the dish more umami. Even people who don't like cheese rave that the cheese is an essential addition to this dish. What's a bit different about eating this is that when they bring out the dakgalbi, they don't give you rice to eat with it like a typical Korean restaurant. You can ask for it, but you want to save the rice part for when they make fried rice for you with the leftover sauce and stir fry. So, make sure to leave a bit of the dakgalbi behind so that when you eat the fried rice, you can have bites of the chicken, rice cake, sweet potato, and cheese. There is an extra charge for the rice portions of the fried rice, but this is a rite of passage for this meal, so make sure to leave room for the fried rice at the end. I haven't had major issues with service. They do get pretty busy, making service slow and they won't be super attentive, but as long as you can get a server's attention, they are pretty quick about following through with your request. I haven't tried anything else yet because every time I go, I can't resist getting the dakgalbi. I did hear that their various Korean barbeque is really good, as well, so this is on my "to eat" list one day. Tips: - The restaurant is kind of easy to miss. You have to enter through the glass door that is to the immediate left of the underground parking garage (that never has available spots). And then you have to go to the second floor. - They take reservations, so if you are going with a big party, it's always good to make reservations ahead of time because they get very busy during peak times. - When it comes to ordering the dakgalbi or the fried rice portions, you need to order a minimum of 2 servings. It was a lot of both for 2 people, so it's helpful to go with a group of 3 or more. - When ordering the dakgalbi, be prepared to tell them serving size, spice level, and what other additions you want to add, such as more chicken or rice cake, etc. - Spoons and chopsticks can be found at the table in a utensil box and you get your own utensils that way. - Regarding their banchan (side dishes), don't come with high expectations of other restaurants, they are very simple and nothing really shines except their steamed egg. - Parking can be a pain in Palisades Park at all times. There is street and meter parking available. - They do serve alcohol, which is the reason why a lot of people eat here for the good food that goes well with the booze. - They seem to have an extensive and affordable lunch menu, which I haven't tried yet, but will definitely try soon. Bathroom Tip - If you are walking from a table, head to the back of the restaurant. You'll pass the entrance on your left. When you get to the back, you'll make a right and will see the bathrooms on the right side of the wall

Website is misleading. There are seafood dishes on the website under combo menu and single menu item but what wasn't specified was those item are only for lunch not dinner. Went there for dinner on Friday and was craving the spicy squid and grilled Mackerel but was disappointed when they said it was only BBQ and no seafood item.

Dumok is a local Korean BBQ gem. My bf and I went at around 3PM on a Friday. It was quiet as the workers got ready for the evening rush they were about to have. We traveled from NYC to NJ for this spot, just saying. We couldn't decide whether we wanted Dakgalbi, or grilled meats, so we ordered both! After ordering, we got a bunch of banchan sides delivered to our table. We got the classic steamed egg, it was so puffy and Korean soybean stew. The egg was steaming for a hot minute before deflating a bit, I don't know why it was so mesmerizing to watch. The stew was spicy and flavorful at the same time. I am a soup girl so I know when the stew is good. We also had other classic sides like kimchi, kimchi radish, pickled radish, scallion salad, etc. All the banchan can be eaten alone or preferably eaten with the grilled bbq meats. For those of you reading this and don't know what Dakgalbi is, it's a super fun with a group of people or just a friend. It's spicy grilled chicken with ddukbokki, a Korean rice cake and kimchi, topped with mozzarella cheese. You use your chopsticks to grab the chicken, and cheese at the same time. The cheese will be super stringy so you will need to use those chopstick skills to wrap it around your chicken for the perfect bite! The cheese helps cool down the spice, if you like you can adjust your spice level. Don't let the bright red colors fool you, it is very addicting and extremely delicious. I cannot tolerate spice like my boyfriend so we got mild, it was very tolerable for me. The grilled Korean BBQ was amazing as well! Honestly i don't know anyone who doesn't like Korean BBQ. Their LA galbi was delicious! The marinade was perfect the meat was marbled beautiful and so tender. I paired it with my banchans and each bite was more delicious than the next. I also got shoulder steak, pork is always my fav. I think most people have the misconception of pork being unhealthy or fat, the shoulder steak was not fat at all. The meat was so lean and when paired with the banchans, chefs kiss. Lastly, our Dumok rice ball arrived. It comes in a bowl with Korean Radish, salmon roe, seaweed and scallions. It was so beautiful plated. Next we were given gloves, and we get to make our very own rice balls!! It was so much fun, there were so many hands on interactive things to do with our food, it brings out laughter, intimacy, and memories as we share this meal together.

Taste is decent and portions are huge but very understaffed for a BBQ restaurant . Servers are literally sprinting across the floor and I had to call someone to sit me down and take my order (and both were after few minutes of waiting) because no one had capacity to casually walk around. You can tell they're trying their best to meet every table's needs but to be honest.. I was getting a little anxious watching them run back and forth while eating. They were kind and attentive for the little time I did have with them though.

HUGE PORTION FOR 2. The steamed egg was very flavorful. The Dakgalbi was just average- basic gochujang sauce. It had cabbage, shredded sweet potatoes, rice cakes and chicken in it. We added the cheese to it but can't say it was needed. The two of us could barely finish half the dish. We originally ordered fried rice with the Dakgalbi, but they don't serve it until the end when you're finished with the Dakgalbi. We ended up canceling the fried rice order because it was too much food.
