This bowl of korean chicken noodle soup is exactly what I needed on this blistering winter evening. The intimate restaurant is run by cute Korean aunties and offers an array of knife cut noodle bowls. Posted up on the wall is a menu of all the different noodles. You can choose to get it with hand torn dough (soojaebi) or noodles (kalguksu)...or both (kaljaebi). Soojaebi is similar to American dumplings; basically thin pieces of dough in soup. I ordered chicken kalguksu and my boyfriend ordered kimchi soojaebi. Both were steaming hot and delicious! The broth was flavorful and perfectly seasoned. Portions were decently large. I was very full after eating it all. You also get complimentary banchan (side dishes). Can't wait to come back in the summer to try their cold noodles!

I was and am still looking for a good kalgooksoo place in NJ. This was good but It can't beat Arirang in Flushing. The portions are not as BIG as other reviewers stated, maybe it changed after COVID. I was still hungry. I should have ordered the steam dumplings. It's a tiny place where, kinda quiet and I ordered the seafood noodles and it didn't have quite the deep broth of seafood as I had hoped. The kimchi noodles my other half ordered was as expected ... good because their kimchi was good. I would go again if I am in the area and I haven't found another alternative by then. PS. Prices have gone up

I've been going here for years now and I feel bad reviewing now. But this restaurant deserves five stars because of how consistently good their food is. Pre covid and covid times. Whenever I crave kalguksu or sujebi, I only think of Son Kalguksu. Food: I shared a spicy chicken kaljaebi (kalguksu/sujebi) and a little neck clam kaljaebi with a friend. The broth is AMAZING and rich for the spicy chicken and really clean and light for the little neck clam one! They also give HUGE portions so be ready to stuff yourself. I suggest if you want to share with someone, have both at the same time. Truly a great combo:) the side dishes are amazing too. Atmosphere: A VERY tiny place. Only seats a few people and has about 6 tables. It kind of gives off an old school Korean vibe which I'm totally okay with. There are two older ladies that seem to run the place and can only speak Korean but they are sweet. If you want to just pick up the food, they pack it well in a nicely sealed container for you too! Highly suggest this place

I looooove this place. My favourite is the spicy chicken sujebi (i prefer sujebi over kalguksu) and my partner loves the anchovy and kimchi sujebi. The bowls are massive, flavour is perfect and the noodles are cooked to perfection. The 2 ladies there remind us of our halmoni's (grandma) cooking back home. Will continue returning to this amazing restaurant!

IMPORTANT! It's not about food. We've been here in November 2020 in the middle of pandemic. They were making dumplings without mask and serve the food without mask or gloves. They were friendly but I felt uncomfortable that they were talking to my baby with no mask. There's other customer right next to our table(it's very tiny 3 table only restaurant). No social distance at all. We might want to go in the future when works is all safe but I don't even want to take out here now. They cook without mask and gloves and cane out to take payment with bare hand. STAY SAFE everyone!

The best Korean handmade noodles (kalguksoo/) in Jersey!! It is a small restaurant with two ladies working the place. It isn't the prettiest or most modern but the food is delicious and are worth the visit! My favorite is the spicy chicken noodles but I like to mix it up because I haven't had a bad flavor yet. The Kimchi, black sesame, chicken have all been great. The portions are very generous and the banchans are very tasty. Just simple, authentic, Korean handmade kalguksoo noodles! They offer to-go and dining in.

This is a bit of a hole in the wall spot nestled next to Totowa in Palisades Park. There aren't many tables here so don't be surprised if you end up waiting. I normally don't like kalguksoo because i find it a bit bland. But i was pleasantly surprised to find that it was quite tasty. They offer just kalguksoo (noodles) or soojaebi (flour dough) or a combo of both. I got the spicy chicken kaljaebi (noodle and flour dough combo) and it had that deep taste i was looking for in the broth with plenty of sprouts and chicken. The sesame one was good too with a thicker consistency. Don't expect a fancy interior, you won't find it here. But you will find tasty food here.

Ok dough but regular noodle is on the soft side. I like the sesame soup base better than the chicken, which doesn't taste fresh. Even the kimchi is getting too old and breaking down on a Saturday afternoon. At $13 - $14 a bowl of noodles, this place needs to improve quality to stay afloat.

I went to eat on a really cold night and it was well worth it. The broth is amazing and you can tell they use good ingredients. I'll go there again next time I'm craving kalguksu or soojaebi.

The grandmas at the restaurant are very kind. Food is great. Dumplings are homemade, very fresh and delicious. I'd strongly recommend this place and I will definitely be coming back here a lot.

! . ! Not only delicious main entrees but also side dishes. This place is so nice and cozy, reminds me mom's hand-made foods. And a lady in the cashier who also served our table always smile at customers. One of the best restaurants in Palisades Park. Highly recommend!!

Authentic korean kalguksu you must try ! I've tried many kalguksu in the past - both in the states and in Korea, and Son Kalguksu is definitely one of my top picks. The broth is amazing and the portion is really really big. Their side dishes were incredible. The establishment itself is very small and only have few seatings available. The tables get filled up fairly quickly and there might be a little bit of waiting time, but trust me, the waits are worth it!

Chicken Kalguksu was very good and the service was great. My daughters really liked the dumplings.

If you want really good authentic kalguksu, you must try here!!! Usually modernized kalguksu is salty and seasoned to be tasty but after few hours you keep drinking water. Here broth is not salty instead perfect, you can really enjoy the noodle with kimchi. One of best thing was kimchi was fresh and also they give you pa (scallion) kimchi!! Love Love Love it!
