I am surprised at the bad reviews for this place. Of all the options at the garden state mall food court, this place is one of the few healthy ones, precisely because it is not drenched in heavy, excessively sweet teriyaki sauce or gravy or fried, like the other asian options. Every time i am in this food court, i see a long line for this place- and it's not because it is the cheapest, as people have mistakenly implied here. The food is just cleaner and healthier. A lot of people that work at the mall order from here. Don't compare this place with Sarku, which is like the cheesecake factory option. And they don't use MSG. And I have never gotten sick from undercooked food from this place.

Just another copycat of Sarku....but not as tasty. The chicken teriyaki was $9.89. Extra $0.50 for fried rice and an extra $0.75 for noodles. The chicken was tender but not very flavorful or well seasoned. You should definitely ask for some teriyaki sauce on top otherwise it will be dry and tasteless. They give a big portion of rice though.Overall, it is filling if you're hungry but definitely not authentic Japanese at all.

It's fast paced. $10 for white rice, vegetables and teriyaki chicken. $2.50 for a soda.Generous with the rice, which was cooked to perfection. Lines are long as people choose this price competitive place over other more expensive place. A negative sign that were headed for DEFLATION.

I ordered online and the food was horrible tasting and gave me a stomach ache. Why is the food so bad?

Decent price and good portion. A typical Chinese place that makes chicken teriyaki and stuff. Has nothing to do with Japanese.

I hate to admit it, but I love Teriyaki-style food mall restaurants like Suki Hana.Like Sarku, Teriyaki chicken, beef or shrimp with white rice and veggies is the order to go with. Reasonably priced (in this day and age) and their massive servings will have you feeling good after you finish your meal. Most of these type of restaurants' food taste and seem the same, but Suki Hana definitely hit the spot with their version. If you're headed here on a weekday, you'll have no issues ordering and picking up right away, but if you're here on a weekend, be prepared to wait on line, especially on Friday and Saturday evenings. Afternoons are a bit more forgiving, but this place gets busy (including the entire food court) past 5pm.

I ordered a chicken teriyaki over rice and regretted it immediately. I had to wait for almost 10 mins for this single dish and it still wasn't cooked properly.I shared this order with my kids and we all ended up with a horrible stomach ache that lasted for 3 days. The chicken was either unclean or not fully cooked. Will not be going back to them regardless of how "cheap" they are.

Don't tell me this is pubic hair or bug leg . I found this mysterious thing in my dish. I really hope this is not what I think it is.I went back and demanded money back and they said "it's not my fault" unbelievably dirty and also the worst customer service. It's so disgusting and I'm so traumatized. I'm about to throw up now

Quick teriyaki meals at the Garden State Plaza mall! This establishment replaced the previous teriyaki chain at this location. The food is still fresh, hot and satisfies post-shopping hunger haha. My favorite meal is chicken teriyaki with white rice and veggies, extra sauce at the end too! Sometimes I get crazy and go for the double chicken. Portions are generous for the prices! tldr; food 4/5 service 4/5 interior 3/5

Super expensive for what they give out smaller portions in my opinion than sarku Japan while being 2-5$ extra in most cases

No longer Sarku, the famous chicken teriyaki made hibachi style is now line-less at the mall. Food was not good, too salty.

What happened to SARKU?? This is a poor substitute. Food is loaded with salt and small portions. No lines. No wonder. Please bring back SARKU!
