Once you visit, the owner's mother remembers you and how spicy you want your dish. Very clean, very accommodating, and extremely friendly. You've never tasted noodles until you've tasted them freshly made to order. Every friend I've taken with me considers Shan Shan an encore restaurant. It's my home away from home.Vegetarian options: Bok choy is my favorite!Dietary restrictions: Rice v wheat noodles.Parking: In a strip mall on rte 46E before New StKid-friendliness: Kids plop down with chopsticks ready to dig in.Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs. Lilly will move around chairs when she sees a wheelchair.

every bowl is a masterpiece, and the walls tell the tale. The vibrant paintings of noodle-making process set the stage for a culinary show. The furniture? Functional, not fussy. The buzz of the crowd is the real music here, a testament to the deliciousness that awaits. Each dish is a flavor-packed performance, served with the speed of a well-rehearsed act. While the decor isn’t winning any awards, the noodles are surely taking center stage. It’s a place where art meets appetite, and though the surroundings may be humble, the experience is anything but.

Authentic and delicious It's a family owned restaurant. The chef and the lady comes from Shanxi and Xingjiang, those places make one of the best noodles in China.?Hand-pulled noodles very fresh and good?Soup base is also fantastic, braised for huge amount of time.?️Love the spicy chili oil, the best I'm had in my life. Add it to soup, smell very complex and rich. Well made oil.Mandarin: Lamb bone and mutton soup simmered for a long time, very delicious. Coupled with the elastic noodles, it is very rare to have it in New Jersey. The mutton noodles are also delicious, thick and beautiful. Highly recommended treasure shop?

Let me say first when I discovered Shan Shan Noodles 6 years ago, the food was excellent. It was so good we actually ate dinner inside there 3 days in a row. We stopped going to this restaurant prior to Covid when our last experience encountered steel wool in my soup. At that time the owner was not so apologetic but her daughter had refunded our money. My husband recently suggested we try take out from here after all these many years. We went to our go to the vegetable soup with egg for me and the beef soup for him as well as scallion pancakes. He went to pick up the soup and as he was making a sharp turn onto the other side of 46 the bag of food slightly shifted and he noticed liquid at bottom of bag. The bag was tightly knotted so he drove back to ask for another soup. The owner (same lady from years ago) had the audacity to say why he drove so fast. He said why don't you open the bag to see what the problem was. As she untied the bag , he said the plastic lid on the soup was halfway closed. He said perhaps instead of blaming him for leaked soup you should check your inventory control. He said she put the container in garbage bin by register then she took out and brought back to kitchen while unrapping the other food that was submerged and supposedly provided new food in all new packaging. As she opened the curtain to enter the kitchen the next thing he heard was loud high pitched yelling like cats in a blender (no pun intended). As he left he said "I will watch my driving and be more carefull"..Needless to say the pancakes were soggy and oiley, beef soup had 3-4 pieces and bland though the vegetable soup was not bad. Needless to say this restaurant has not aged well.Farewell Shan Shan. Good luck in your future endeavors!

Solid hand pulled noodle restaurant in Parsippany strip mall. Small family owned with about 25 tables for eat-in. Just a short wait on a Sunday night in this cozy yet clean place. Diverse range of families, couples and singles that night.Food is very good. Each table is given a complimentary cucumber garlic cold appetizer. The hand pulled noodles are the star attraction. They are springy and soft with a slight chewiness. We ordered noodles in a beef soup; broth was excellent but the pieces of beef were a little skimpy and rough. There is a window to the chef making the pulled noodles and the TV has a looped video featuring this and their desserts. Scallion pancakes were also on point; toasty on the outside, flavourful and layers come apart.I didn't love the fried rice because it was a bit too oily but the kids didn't seem to care.Soup dumplings were very good. The wrapping was not too thick and the soup filling was tasty.Overall, I would recommend coming for the noodles and the dumplings!Plenty of free parking and wheelchair accessible. The entrance is right off the highway (eastbound) so it's easy to miss.Kid-friendliness: Many kids in families. Also booth seating availableWheelchair accessibility: Ground level restaurant with wheelchair accessible parking and ramps

I love this place! The noodles/sauces are great, and the beef pancake is a favorite in my family too.I especially like the spicy dishes, although this most recent time I ordered mapo tofu and spicy pork noodles, and both were unusually mild? It was a takeout order, so I ended up adding my own doubanjiang and chili oil at home. I hope it was just a one-off, and that the kitchen isn't planning to permanently tone down their spicy dishes.

These reviews and photos are misleading, in my opinion. I traveled 40 min and my food was meh at best. I can't see the hype. Spicy cumin lamb noodles ????, house noodle soup, disappointing, cucumber salad pieces were soft. Scallion pancakes, Ive had way better. One dish left to try, braised beef noodle soup. Sorry, this was a no for my family.
