We absolutely ? love this place the experience of preparing your own food the way you like it at your table is a one of a kind experience. The food is fresh the atmosphere is lively and the service is outstanding. We look forward to our weekly experience there!

I have been a frequent customer of V Yan for a while now. Unfortunately tonight my friends & I have had a terrible experience. My muslim friends asked before starting their hotpot which broths contained pork. They were told only the original style broth had pork in it. We all ordered miso broth. The food was good until the waitress came to refill our broth. As we continued eating my friends noticed their broth did not taste like miso broth. When they came around again to top off another friends broth my muslim friends asked if what they topped our broth off with because theirs tasted funny. The waitress replied we top it off with original broth. We were shocked! We all ordered miso broth because my muslim friends cannot eat pork! When we told her that we clairied in the beginning that my friends cannot eat pork she just looked shocked and said i’m sorry. It was totally not acceptable. When you order a certain broth you expect it to be refilled with the same! What if they had an allergy to pork and would have had a reaction! No care from the waitress. When they got the bill they decided not to tip the waitress based off the lack of concern of serving them pork. Their right, the rest of us tipped her anyways. She pulls out our checks before she ran our friends card to count the money. I have never seen a waitress EVER count money in front of guests before! When she sees that they did not leave a tip she said “tip no good.” They tell her that she served them pork when they specified they cannot eat it. She then gave a smirky smile but like she was almost angry about it. I don’t know if I will eat here again based off the lack of concern for my muslim friends. I know they will not be back…

Place is dirty, staff is EXTREMELY RUDE. I used to come here all the time and it was amazing years ago. It’s gone down hill. The waitresses are lazy and rude, we needed refills and more food and we waited at least 40 minutes and they never came over, instead of doing their job they all sat at a table. This place is NOT cheap you have nerve adding a tip for yourself when you really deserve nothing. Bathroom doors don’t close and bathrooms are overall filthy. Food was the only redeeming quality about this place and even so the meat is cheap. I’m also very curious about the cleanliness of the kitchen. Don’t waste your time overall review: expensive food, bad service, dirty restaurant BEWARE
