I was in the area and decided to stop in for a sub. My bf has been coming here for years and swears by this deli as one of the best around. This mom and pop deli is not much to look at from the outside. They have free parking out front with several spots they share with another business.Once inside you can see why they call this place The Parsippany Deli/ Emerald Gifts aka The Irish Deli.As soon as you walk in the front door, they have a glass counter that displays beautiful China from Ireland. They sell teas, marmalade, sausages, bacon, black and white pudding, Irish candies, also Brennan's bread.During the month of March they make and sell homemade Irish Soda Bread. As you make your way to the front counter you will meet owner Eddie, and Avril. They were both very friendly and told me about their business. Posted on the counter is their sandwich and salad menus. The Parsippany deli/Emerald gifts has been in business for 50 years, now I know why. Their prices are reasonable, and everything is homemade. They also do catering. They roast all their own meats like Roast Beef, Turkey Breast, and Baked Virginia Ham. I highly suggest getting a half of a sub. It’s as big as most whole subs. This place doesn’t skimp on their meats, just the opposite. When I got home and opened up my sub I was pleasantly surprised, and couldn’t believe how much meat was on it. It was probably one of the best Italian subs I’ve ever had and I’ve been all over for subs.I ordered their Italian Sub - Ham, Salami, Capocollo they call it Hot Ham, and Cheese. I got mine with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, mayo, oil and vinegar. It was really delicious. I wound up eating a half of a half and saved the rest for later. My bf ordered their Roast Beef n American Cheese Sub. The Roast Beef was cooked perfectly rare and piled on the sandwich with lettuce, tomato, oil and vinegar. He enjoyed it so much he ate the entire thing.I also ordered 2 of their homemade salads. Macaroni and Potato Salad. The macaroni was my favorite. It was rich and creamy.I highly recommend this place, you won’t be disappointedParking: They share the spaces with another business. It doesn’t seem to be a problem to park

Owner Ed Hansberry is why this deli is the greatest in NJ, which is a hard title to have. The services he provides, along with an extensive Irish product line and foods are outstanding. We try to stop by every time we are in the area because we know we will always be well-treated and welcomed. He stands by Cead Mile Failte!

Started going to the deli in 1978. Ed has a great sense of humor, helpful and the sandwiches are large servings at a very fair price.

Started going to the deli in 1978. Ed has a great sense of humor, helpful and the sandwiches are large servings at a very fair price. I like the chicken pot pie. He makes his own Irish Soda bread and it is wonderful.

makes a great sandwich for a good price. Also makes excellent salads. If you enjoy Irish food, he specializes in carrying a wide variety of them.

Had the worst first experience ever. I live in brooklyn, new york came all the way to try their sandwiches. I asked for a bacon egg and cheese sandwich. He looks at me coughs on his hand and touches my sandwhich with his bare hands. I asked him can you please wash your hands after that. He looked at me with disgust because i told him that. Then starts touching my cheese. And microwaves my bacon still with no gloves. Gives me my cheese cold not melted hey i dont know how new jersey makes their food but the way that deli does it sucks. Would not recommend this place to no-one. When you hand food you have to use gloves. Especially after touching your mouth and nose.

Been going to this deli since I was a kid. Both of my grandparents know the owners and have been a customer for over 50 years. They have delicious cold cuts and sandwiches. Highly recommend if you're looking for amazing sandwiches in the Morris County area!
