I came in here before a hair appointment and the owner was so beyond nice and gave me some tomato pie and a cream puff to try before she closed up for the day and they were both absolutely to die for!! Can't recommend her enough

Kumi’s Cakes and Pastries is a gem in Phillipsburg. The tomato pie is truly wonderful and the pastries are incredible. There is nothing like picking up a box of freshly baked tomato pie from Kumi’s- hot from the oven! The owner is such a lovely woman who treats her customers like family. I love going there.

Kumi’s always does an amazing job. Their tomato pie and cakes are great. We had a smash cake and beautifully decorated sheet cake for our daughter’s first birthday. Everyone kept asking where we got the cake from. You will not be disappointed choosing Kumi’s.

WOW! The tomato pie is delicious! It was the first thing that we smelled when we opened the door. A friend told us that Kumi's makes the best tomato pie just like the old New York Italian Bakery made many years ago. I preordered a whole sheet of 24 slices for Friday pickup to assure that we would get it. At $24 for 24 slices, it was a steal for the taste and quality. We like to reheat our tomato pie directly on the oven rack so that the crust gets crisp while the top remains soft, thick sauce. I gave some away, wrapped some for the frig but it can also be frozen. We did try 2 cream puffs, 1.50 each, filled with a tasty, creamy pudding. The eclairs at 3.00 each were huge enough so that we split one. It had just the right amount of chocolate icing and again filled with the same creamy pudding. The best compliment? I called and told Kumi how happy we were with not only our food but that someone told us about her business. The best of all compliment, we will be back for more of her items.

What a wonderful shop - do yourself a favor and pay Kumi a visit. She's only open a few days a week (she does ALL of the baking herself, she feels she's the only one who can deliver the quality she wants). We stopped in to buy some cannoli (which were INCREDIBLE - best cannoli I've ever had) - we had a wonderful chat as we told her we were moving to the area from California, she could not have been more welcoming, and even gave us a free tomato pie she was so proud of her work (rightfully so, turns out the tomato pie was AWESOME). I tried to do a "keep the change" with her since she was so generous giving us the tomato pie, she insisted I take 100% of the change from the charge for the cannoli. We're hooked.Trust me, you will love what you buy from Kumi's shop. We can't wait to move so we can enjoy more of what she offers!
