We have been original fans of this place for almost ten years. We even had my husband’s 30th birthday party here right before Covid. Having now tried to go back twice and having horrendous food and service experiences. We unfortunately will no longer be customers here. After already sending our meals back because they were served cold…when we received the bill we were charged for items we never ordered. When we pointed it out the owners daughter (a teenager) who was in the manager role at the time because she came over and said that they don’t take off items off of bills.. I explained that we understand that there were only highschoolers working that night but the service we received was a really disappointing experience and we did not order the items they were trying to charge us for. I also mentioned how we had to send food back that was cold. She then told me again that she is the owners daughter and that she knows that everyone sends back burrito bowls because they get cold quick…I explained that I was aware she is the daughter of the owner, however that doesn’t excuse the service and how they are handling this situation. As several of the workers were my old students I had extra understanding and still tipped our teenage server generously, but we will no longer be customers here. Your restaurant is only as good as the quality of employees running the ship..

My family and I were in the mood for Mexican and I happened to find good reviews on Yelp for Freppe's! There is parking in the rear of the restaurant, we walked in through the back and were seated right away. Cute little place looks family ran and operated with a party room upstairs. We started with the sampler appetizer and glad we did. It was so good and enough for the of us 4, it had wings, flautas, wings, & cheese quesadilla. My husband and I shared the Mocajete AMAZING!! Never had veggies mixed in the Mocajete, but to be honest it is a great addition. Portion is huge we both had lunch for the next day! My boys had the Birria tacos and chipotle creamy chicken and shrimp they were very happy with their choices. The only thing that was a little disappointing is the wait staff is more like teenagers so not very attentive; however, for the quality and flavor of the food I'll deal with it. If in the mood for some authentic Mexican cuisine you need to come here!!!!

I love the chimichanga from this place. My wife and I have been coming here for years. The chips are also amazing. The service never fails and the prices are fair.

I'm new to Plainfield . I saw this place and immediately wanted to try it. I love Tex Mex, I checked out the reviews and gave it I try just yesterday. I must say the staff was very nice. We placed a to-go order shrimp tacos, chipotle chicken and shrimp and cheese quesadillas and churros. The bill was $65.00.. little high in my opinion. The food was bland and cold. We live a good 4 minute drive from the restaurant and the rice and beans were ice cold when we got home. I was hoping this place would be as good as the reviews. I was extremely disappointed. I'm sure I will not be back. My daughter who loves quesadillas only ate .1/2 hers.. it's kinda hard to mess up a quesadilla.

This Mexican spot is quite good, though it leans toward a mainstream vibe. Despite that, it remains a highly viable option. I tried the burrito, which came with sauce, beans, rice, sour cream, and tomatillos - it was delicious, especially considering we had a sizable group. The setting is pleasant, not overly fancy, just a larger-than-average Mexican joint (though not as large as Jose Tejas). The service was prompt and efficient. I would recommend it for dining out with colleagues or friends, as it offers a satisfying experience.

Service was awful and food was mediocre, bland, and over priced.

Food is EXCELLENT!! Parking lot is small and fills up before the restaurant. When restaurant is full and music is loud, it can be difficult to hear one another.

This place had great food and service. I had the shrimp fajitas and all the fixings. It was freshly made and beautifully plated. I will definitely be going back.

Normally I'd give Freppes a great review, I've been patronizing this restaurant for years, I've even moved away from town and keep driving back to consume their foods. However, this last time I was there, the waiter just couldn't get out of his own way. Besides an obvious language barrier which made ordering food way too difficult, we ordered and were charged for an appetizer table side guacamole, but they brought us kitchen made and instead of serving it as an appetizer (for my 6/4 yo to snack on while waiting for their meal), it came with the meal and we never even ate it (they fixed the price after pointing out they never made it table side). Now the meal... My wife and I ordered their chimichangas and they came out super hot, the waiter used oven mits to serve it to us, but instead of placing mine on the table he handed me mine, and burnt my hands, I only noticed the oven mits after he handed this burning hot plate to us. Now why would a plate be this hot? Yeah, it left under the broiler to melt the cheese too long and the food got dried out. The black beans had no flavor, they tasted like they dumped a can of pre-made beans on my plate. I'm really hoping this was an off night, but if this experience repeats, it'll be my last time going there.Parking: Parking in rear can get difficult if busy

My order is never right. Everyone at my table is down eating when I finally get my food. This has happened both times I've been there. The servers are horrible.

This is gourmet Mexican food with good sized portions and friendly service. Bring your own. What else could I ask for. And they have a party room upstairs.

Food is great and the mango salad with chicken as the choice of protein is so good with the mango dressing that comes with it. Yum! Definitely recommend that order and place of restaurant to dine at.
