I ordered Hunan pork, but they just gave me some mixed vegetables with fried pork. I was attracted to the name of Hunan pork because it's not common to see it here. But they didn't make Hunan pork for me. Since I know exactly how a authentic Hunan pork looks like and this is not even close. This is false advertising. I won't recommend anyone who want to try real Hunan pork to order this dish. But still, I guess it's an okay American Chinese restaurant. I understand that the ingredients are hard to find here. So just please don't make it looks authentic by the names. I'll paste a picture of Hunan pork from this place and a real picture of Hunan pork.

I ordered chicken and mixed veggies, usually comes in a brown sauce. The one I ordered from this place came in a clear sauce that tasted like watered down dog food. I'm upset because I really had a taste for Chinese food today and now I'm sick to my stomach. Disgusting.

Ordered takeout last night and it was outstanding! First time trying their food and none of us were disappointed ... we raved! Ordered Dim Sum, Boneless Spare Ribs, Egg Fu Young (sauce on side), Pepper Steak, Beef and Broccoli and Pork Fried Rice. Extremely fresh, flavored food and the sauce in each dish delicious ... unlike other chinese food where the sauce is so thick, overly seasoned and salty, theirs is notches above! An extensive menu, we all are new customers!

There is now new ownership and it makes all the difference. I used to go to silver lake bc this place was falling off. But now I decided I get it again and I love it. The restaurant is so clean. My shoes no longer stick to the floor. Also the ower is much nicer. And he doesnt try to rip you off or take advantage of you. Overall so much better.

Ordered dumplings. Tasted like the meat inside it expired. Rest of the food was meh. I wish I had eaten at the restaurant so I could send those dumplings right back.

Five stars is pretty high for take out but have to give New China 88 their due! We used to live in Point Pleasant and tried all the local Chinese food. Some dishes were good here and there but this place is overall great. When we moved out of Point we still travel back for our take out! We've even had out of towners rave about it. Food is freshly prepared, never gotten a wrong item, and the sauces are just right - not overly spiced. Had the General Tso's, Veggie LoMein, Boneless Spareribs. Portions are generous and prices are reasonable. Chinese food can vary greatly in taste but this place is very pleasing!
No I don't have much experience from this restaurant except for the beef lo mein which is just noodles and some beef no veggies very thick noodles in the smallest large container I've ever seen from a Chinese restaurant. I wouldn't order again.

Not a fancy place by any stretch of the imagination, mostly take out with a couple of table ... But, that's it. The food was very tasty, price was right and prepared promptly. I like the place and will go back again.
