Calling this a Cafe & Bar is a bit of a stretch, it is a tiny bar (6 stools) and seating area where you can get a few dishes in the lobby of a Holiday Inn. There are a few beers and bottles of liquor to have a mixed drink, but the choices were slim and you're taking some significant chances if you order anything with more than 2 ingredients. The bartender who was on the Saturday night I visited was not terribly friendly and spent nearly the entire time we were there on her cell phone, including when she made our drinks. Granted, the Naval Academy Crew Team had just finished nearly eating the entire kitchen just before we arrived, and I'm sure it was a difficult shift, but it was still egregious. If you just want a drink before heading up to your room or can't figure out how to get Grubhub to deliver to your room and are famished, this might do the trick. Otherwise, nothing to see here.

Sort of a weird layout but it also doubles as breakfast buffet dining area or at least one side does. I sat at a table to read and order a salad one evening. The bartender was lacking some personality but was helpful to me when a creepy old guy sat next to me and began talking to me as if it didn't matter to him whether I wanted to converse or not. The bartender then made me an appropriately strong drink to accommodate my obvious annoyance. My Cesar salad was good. The grilled chicken that was throughout the salad was great! It's a convenience this hotel has a bar area that serves food but they definitely need to step it up a notch with service! It's obviously a popular hotel restaurant/bar based on priced point, name and location but falls short of attracting a repeat visit with lack of service.

Most disgusting food in NJ. Chicken tenders had absolutely no seasoning and no taste. Ever heard of salt?! Tried the brownie sundae which was actually 2 (still partially frozen) peices of chocolate cake with whipped cream and overly sweet frosting. The bar has a terrible selection and only has one of the wines that was actually on their wine list. If you stay at this holiday inn do yourself a favor and go somewhere else for dinner or order in with grub hub.

I attended a week long work shop down the street from here and came here everyday for lunch. Although the menu is very limited for lunch (5 items or so) I found it relaxing to sit at the bar and watch the nice TVs (World Cup) while eating lunch. Service was good. The guys were very friendly and the atmosphere was nice. Food was good.

Its buffet breakfast is alright, pretty standard among other Holiday Inns. But the dinner is horrible. the steak is dry (I ordered medium rare), the baked potato is burnt, the salad is not fresh. Will not visit again.
