Unexpectedly decent prices for the area! They even have a special selection of veggie rolls combo which I really appreciated. The rolls were a good size, not too tiny and freshly made. Also byob. The only thing is we had to wait for a while to get our food since its in a busy area.

For quick and easy take-out, Sakura Express on Witherspoon in Princeton is ok.The people were very nice (they saw us standing outside before opening time on a chilly day and they opened 10 minutes early on a Saturday to let us inside) and the service was prompt and courteous. The setting is a little cramped for dining-in and, thankfully, we were the only party eating in the restaurant, but while we were there a number of people arrived for take-out orders. We were not impressed with the food. The sushi was poor, average at best, and the chicken katsu (fried cutlet) and gyudon (beef on rice) were only ok. Nothing was bad, it just wasn't delicious. So for fast Japanese food to take home when you're in a hurry, Sakura Express is an option. But I don't recommend it for a restaurant experience.

Yes, it's in a mall. And the seats are hard. And the drinks are served in paper cups. But it's fresh, it's tasty, I'm a sushi lover, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I recently dined at Sakura Express and was thoroughly impressed with the quality of the food and the service. The spicy salmon rolls were by far the best I've had, with the perfect balance of flavor and heat. The rolls themselves were also huge, which was a nice surprise.I have to admit that I do miss the original owners, but the new team has done an excellent job of maintaining the high standards of the restaurant. The atmosphere was pleasant and the service was efficient and friendly.Overall, I highly recommend Sakura Express for anyone looking for delicious and hearty sushi rolls. The spicy salmon rolls are a must-try, and I can't wait to go back and try some of the other items on the menu. Five stars!

A reliable restaurant! They have massive rolls and load you with lots of fish. I especially love their spicy tuna roll. A great place for lunch or a take out dinner. Their portions on other non-sushi items are also perfect for sharing. Their miso soup and salad are also great! Great place to go in town!

Got food from here earlier and it was really good. The food was flavorful and was good quality. The amount of food you get for the price is pretty good and I would recommend this place if you want some high quality food.

Good price and portions. Fish isn't as fresh as expected.

There's no better sushi in Princeton.*But it's everything else that pushes this place ahead of the pack for me. The staff are consistently superb in their customer service, and they tend to have a kind of soft/gentle/quiet manner that very nicely fits the atmosphere of this small Japanese restaurant. They always ask me if I'd like a salad or miso soup to go with my order (I always do takeout), include chopsticks and soy sauce and whatnot without asking, and package the order with care. One time I got a little bag of candied pecans as a complimentary dessert, and another time I found a complimentary piece of art on my bag when I got home (see photo). When I arrive early and they're still making it, I get to witness the exquisite care they put into their craft. I'm finding it difficult to articulate what precisely is so special about this place, so I'll just sum it up as a very impressive transplant of authentic Japanese culture and cuisine.*(Is it "the best sushi in Princeton"? Maybe, idk. It might be tied with one or two other places when compared just in terms of food quality. Princeton has multiple sushi places that are top-quality in terms of their fare, as far as I can tell, though I'm no sushi expert.)

A new Princeton favorite. Great food, appreciative staff, and I think a fair menu. Cheers!

Definitely recommend! Obviously not the best sushi place I've ever been to but the price is fantastic and the sushi was honestly really good. I really recommend the lunch special, I got spicy crunchy salmon roll and spicy salmon avocado roll, both were really great. The service was really fantastic as well. The workers were very nice and my order was ready in probably 5 minutes. I've only been here once, but I would definitely go again and possibly even raise my review to 5 stars.

My family of four went there for takeout a weeknight at 6:30. We had Udon soup with shrimp, Teriyaki shrimp dinner, and a sushi dinner. Also, we had seaweed salad, so it was a pretty diverse selection. All were so bad, we threw them away after spending over $70 dollars. The Udon soup was a weird-smelling broth with just noodles and a few shaved carrots. The shrimp in the broth was rubbery. The Shush dinner was tasteless in a smaller container than what you would get in a supermarket for one roll. The teriyaki shrimp dinner was also overcooked. Even the seaweed salad was bad. We have eaten in many different places, at various levels and this was the worst. We have even eaten there before and it was never like this. I felt sick afterward.

Delicious but too slow for making ordered food.
