I guess this shall be another memoriam for a great Jersey diner that fell to the wayside, list their focus on the food and eventually closed their doors. The Galaxy Diner was a part of my life and will always be a part of my memories. Honestly, it was never the greatest diner, but it was good and I spent many a night there with friends, enjoying a meal after a night at the bars and/or the nightclubs. I don't know what it is with Jersey, but a night out would never be complete without a visit to the diner to end the evening. Maybe we just wanted to stretch the night out a little longer, maybe we just wanted to enjoy youth and friendship, or maybe we were just hungry. My go to here, as with most diners, was the pizza burger deluxe. Probably a club sandwich was my second most common item ordered. Third, if I was in the mood for breakfast, was a western omelet with a side order of sausage. My last meal here was a pizza burger deluxe and I remember the server and I discussing that they were looking for help and my daughter was seeking a job. Funny how I remember that. Crazy how some things stay in your head. Anyway, it is a shame that this diner has closed. Maybe it was a change in the area's culinary tastes or maybe they just decided it was time to call it a day. I honestly don't know. But I am grateful that this business was in my life.

Management ignored me for 10 minutes while I stood at the door waiting for a table. Then I sat myself. Then sat for another 10 before I left. Place gets 2 stars since the inside looked clean and pleasant. Male manager (blue shirt, blading spot) spent more time on phone and drinking coffee then servicing guest.

Had great food and a great sever Danielle was very attentive and it's great to bring kids I have a 1 year old and she enjoyed Danielle coming to play with my daughter

The waitress was the best. We had a little 3 years old and she came with a coloring book and crayons. She even spoke to the little and made her feel special. The food was good and there was a larger amount of it. We we're served with a smile and and had a great time. We we're not rushed out and enjoyed our meals and each other's company. I would go back anytime.

I have lived in the area for over 30 years and this was my first time here. I had a very tasty and large Cobb Salad. My friend had something off the luncheon menu (chicken sandwich or plate) that came with their salad bar. He enjoyed his meal too. It wasn't that busy when we were there so our sever was spending a lot of time on us. Maybe too much at times but whatever. She meant well.
Great service! Breakfast food was excellent. Recommend the skillet breakfast platter!

Great tasty Hot food!! First time going today for lunch and I loved the food. I left full and satisfied. My waitress was very nice, she never told me her name but her service was fast and delightful. The atmosphere is comfortable and cozy. I had the open-faced roast beef with mashed potatoes gravy and collards mixed with black eyed peas

Decent diner, I've definitely had "better" diner food but the portions were good. We went on New Year's Day since a lot of the places we wanted to go to were closed. Our waitress was nice but kept forgetting things, like didn't bring us soups with our sandwich platters and did not refill our waters when we said yes....haha typical diner things! I had the cheesesteak and it was good, took half of it home since I was full from the soup, fries, etc.
