The tacos didn't taste like carnitas, more like dry pork rinds submerged in more oil. And the smell of the place takes away your appetite. The service even worse.

The food is not that good. I ordered takeout in person and while I was waiting, a drunk man started verbally harassing me. It is clear that the employees and this company do not care about their customers. If alcohol is not allowed in this establishment, why is this drunk man carrying a beer with him allowed in? On top of that, the parking lot exit was blocked and I couldn't get out... and it was probably blocked by another drunk who didn't want to move his car and got mad for the hell of it. I would never return here.

I am going to get the one negative thing out of the way first: their bathroom was out-of-service. I think it was flooded. Anyhow, things happen and I feel that it is not fair to factor that into the review. The reason I am giving such a high rating is because both the food and service was fantastic. I don't normally write reviews, but I felt I should say something about this place. I had a mushroom quesadilla (quesadilla champiñones). We were on our way to a show and what we ordered was about 3 times larger in serving-size than my family expected. It was probably the best quesadilla and rice and beans I had had ever. We were going to the Count Basie Theater and were cognizant that we would not be able to bring the food in (for security reasons), so we asked if the kitchen if they could keep it for us and they did. We came back after the concert and picked up the food. We took the NJ Transit back home and the train broke down due to mechanical issues. We had left the food on the top shelf of the train and had left without it when they had to take the train out of service and instead, had to take a bus home. The reason I am mentioning that, as-well, is because I was to some extent, kind-of upset. This shows that the food we ate was good enough that I could not just shrug off the circumstance of forgetting that food. Altogether, it is casual and the atmosphere is basic, but that is really not needed when you want some splendid food with generous serving sizes and, as to when I went there, very friendly staff. This is a definite recommendation! :-)

This is now la frontera. Not sure if same owner but it’s remodeled. This is hands down the best Mexican I’ve had in monouth county. Their sandwiches, tacos and enchiladas are unbelievable. My new favorite spot in red bank. Great quantity and pricing.

I wish I could leave it as a zero star but I can’t unfortunately. It was a very bad service. The employees has no customer service. The food had no zero taste. I would not recommend it AT ALL for those who’ll waste their time going there. Take me somewhere else even if it’s far away from there.
