By far the most poorly run (I can't say managed because it's NOT managed) Playa Bowls in NJ. If I could give the service 0 stars I would, that's how poor it is. Unfriendly, slow-moving kids work behind the counter who never greet me or even flash a smile. When the place is packed they show no sense of urgency, do not communicate with the customers to keep them posted on their orders, and have messed up our orders multiple times. If I'm paying for an over-priced (non-organic may I add) smoothie with a few $1 add-ons to go into it...put those ingredients in, don't leave them out but charge me for them. I originally reached out to the manager (who was impossible to reach) to address my concerns after walking out one day, and I got a brief email apologizing saying that "maybe we can talk on the phone sometime about it." Excuse me? TOTALLY unacceptable, and so NOT what Playa Bowls was founded on and prides themselves on. Dude, get it together already!
Stopped in because I was craving something like this. I got the 8th ave bowl and added strawberries. The place itself is very nicely built out. The young lady who helped me was very polite and quick making my order. Only reason for 4 stars is the acai mix was a bit too frozen, it seemed to need to be thawed maybe another 15 minutes or so.
