Last night, my family and I visited the Roots Steakhouse, Ridgewood location to celebrate a special birthday occasion. We were greeted with impeccable service from our server, who catered to our needs flawlessly. The cuisine, as always, was simply delightful. While enjoying our meal, a small mishap occurred where a drink was accidentally spilled onto the floor, splashing onto my sports coat. The server promptly expressed sincere apologies and notified their supervisor. To our surprise, Larry, the general manager, personally approached our table to offer his sincere apologies and assistance. Despite my reassurances that accidents happen, Larry insisted on arranging for the dry cleaning of my coat and even offered to deliver it to my home. Although I declined his kind offer, Larry ensured that I could submit the dry cleaning bill for reimbursement. As we concluded our meal, we were pleasantly surprised when Larry sent over an assortment of complimentary desserts from the menu. His professionalism and genuine care during this incident were truly commendable. This review is not intended to critique the staff but to express heartfelt gratitude to Larry and his team for their exceptional handling of an unfortunate situation.

I didn't write anything the first time and im glad i didntWent back for round 2 1 month later to the day10/10. Im blown awayPrice is typcial upscale steakhouse, so understand if you're like me with a normal job and a normal life. Make this special occasion. For those that have an upgraded life you would kick yourself, not eating here all the time.Romantic settingFood is beyond good. Lobster bites and filet is to die for.Parking is easy, so dont be nervous cause of areaThis is an amazing place. Will cost you. But well worth it. Just look over the menu at home and be realistic. You will need to get the steaks. Sides are separate prices. So keep all that in mindBut i promise you that dispointment you get from overspending at a fancy resteraunt and not leaving feeling full not just in the belly but with overall experience will not happen hereYou will love it and not care that you have to sell your first born to pay for it.

What a great porterhouse steak we had on a Monday night. So delicious! We ordered some oysters to start and we were disappointed they weren't meaty enough for the price. I liked the taste more than my husband but they weren't the best I had. We also weren't impressed with the popovers. They were reheated. That's their table bread version. When we pointed that out, they replaced them with fresher ones. Still tasted too eggy for us. We loved the sides. The corn brûlée was fantastic and definitely felt like dessert and we also had the Brussel sprout bacon side and it was really sweet and addictive. Overall, great dinner. Vibe was NYC fancy minus the noise, traffic and wait.

Choose this as our valentines dinner! Made a reservation about 3 weeks in advance. The ambiance is your typical romantic streak house vibes. We split a calamari for an appetizer and it was extremely fresh. For our entrees we got the 8oz ribeye with shrimp & roots chicken parm. We split the creamed spinach and "famous" Mac and cheese. Everything was very good.. the Mac and cheese was so hyped up it was a bit underwhelming BUT it was good. Our server was very welcoming and kind. We were checked on multiple times throughout the night. Overall we had a very enjoyable night here. I'd like to come back.

Frustratingly waited ~20 min to be seated with a reservation. No apologies other than being told it will just be a few more minutes. Waitstaff was good, busboy was great, food runner simply plopped our food down on the table. We really enjoyed the sides, drinks were syrupy but had a nice presentation, steak was good, shrimp were very good as was the butter cake desert. Nice Resturant and decor, would have been nice for lights to be a bit dimmer in the dinning room to set an ambiance. Overall: good.

The food is absolutely delicious! Our server, Jake, was phenomenal. We tried the Spicy Rib and wagyu dumpling appetizers, they were both tasty and well made, but the dumplings were the better of the two, especially with the honey based dipping sauce. Out of the cocktails we had, the blood orange mule was head and shoulders above the rest. Our steaks were juicy, flavorful and cooked to perfection.

A classic steakhouse located centrally in downtown Ridgewood. The atmosphere is is upscale and beautiful, showcasing the leather, wood finishes, and gold you'd expect from a tradition steakhouse. The service is always impeccable, whether at a table or sitting at the bar top. The food is very good, and it's definitely the best place around to get a steak with all the fixin's, but the steaks can be inconsistent on temperature. I've had to send steaks back on a few occasions because they were off by more than one level of temp (read: asked for med rare and got med well); my wife just tried their lobster and it was either overcooked or had been under a gets lamp for too long. The sides and desserts are excellent, and the sticky ribs are worth the trip by themselves. If you're not interested in dinner Roots is also a great place for a craft cocktail or an after-dinner drink; my wife and I often go at the end of the night for dessert and a glass of port at the bar.
