Judging from the emptied-out inside and the flags of Puerto Rico and South Korea cryptically hanging from the storefront window, SMOKED is now permanently closed. Actually, it's the flags that give it away. SMOKED seemed almost completely empty every time I walked past or stopped in during the last 4 years of its operation. You'd walk in and the soft drink fridge contained literally two cans of soda. The space looked like they hadn't finished moving in yet, for the entire time they were open. Good BBQ, and friendly people (by which I mean the two people who seemed to run it single-handed), but lacking in infrastructure in organization. Those of us who live in town had often wondered aloud why SMOKED and the adjacent dive bar MacMurphy's never collaborated or combined. Having a place with good BBQ, booze, outdoor seating, and live entertainment located right off the train station would have made money hand over fist. In case anyone's listening.

The corn pudding is to die for. Love the smoky flavor on all entree options. Chicken and mac n cheese are also good. Personally not a huge fan of sausage but it's ok. Would be wonderful if ribs are more juicy. It's really hard to find good food in NJ in general and this is it! Keep it up!

Food was okay, everything from the Mac & Cheese to the ribs had too much salt. Ribs and Brisket were okay, but dry. The greens with pork had limited pork. Overall, food was okay but has the potential to be great.

Absolutely delicious! Came across this place after going to yoga and stopped by. I was expecting friends on short notice and decided to order the family pack to feed 8. Portions were large but most importantly delicious! Will order catering here for future family parties!

Wow. I had an absolutely amazing brisket sandwich here. I have had plenty of brisket in the last 25-30 years (at least within the NYC, Washington DC, and Virginia areas) and this sandwich was spot on. The press on the exterior of the bun crisps it just enough to hold the meat perfectly. Many of us have eaten a brisket sandwich and the vessel that holds the meat (the bread) fails miserably. This is not the case. Wonderful experience.

I eat in this lovely spot many times a year! This is the best place to grab a bite. I visit this spot at least once a month. The food is of high quality, the crew is professional and the rates are fair. I enjoy being in this place for a nice dinner.

Suggested this for dinner with extended family to try something new. We ordered ribs, brisket, sausage, mac and cheese, beet salad, potato salad, corn bread pudding. I was surprised that we didn't get any bbq sauce with our large order. The ribs were on the dry side with smoke as the primary flavor. Brisket was okay too. All sides were okay, not great. Was a little disappointed with our meal, our kids barely ate any of it bc it was too chewy. Maybe we caught them on a bad day?

I like this spot! They prepare first-rate dishes, they have a nice menu, The chief cook in that spot is an expert, I enjoy a lot trying all their food. The dishes are always tasty, the attitude towards the visitors is friendly. I visit often this place and I was never unhappy. I highly recommend it.

Sorry to report, the food is an absolute abomination to all things BBQ. Really disappointed as I was really hoping to find a good local BBQ place. The ribs in particular were terrible - the meat was rubbery, difficult to eat off the bone, and lacked any flavor whatsoever.

The staff is very friendly and prompt. It may have been an off night, but our rack of ribs were gray/beige - No glistening dark bark, no smoke ring; the interior of the meat was the same strange gray/beige color like it was boiled. Oddly, you could taste the smoke (almost too intense). You could also taste a hint of propane which was not good. The grilled corn salad was terrific, but the star of the show fell very short tonight. I actually feel sick to my stomach from eating here. The meal was just shy of $50 for two regular size sides, rack of ribs, piece of soggy corn pudding. Outrageously overpriced for the quality.

This site is my first choice restaurant. Of all restaurants I know I prefere it most. I always suggests to my friends to go to that place. everytime I want to go to a delicious dinner, this place comes straightaway to my mind. Great and all sorts of food and a large menu.generous staff, and great mood. Not less important, the price is affordable. I recommend this spot with pleasure.
