I've been a hard core sushi person since the 70s when it first came to NY Metro. I think I know my stuff having been to Asia as well. I've found some really good sushi places in Bergen County: this isn't one of them.My correct assumption was that it would be overpriced simply because it's in Ridgewood. It costs more than far better places in Manhattan. We ordered 2 appetizers and several different sushi rolls. The fish wasn't good and the ratio of rice to fish was ridiculously small. The hamachi wasn't fresh and had the day old fishy scent. The Dragon Roll was very skimpy and I could not detect the slightest taste of eel. And it was half the size of what you'd find at other places for more money.I cannot understand how people give it such high ratings when there are far better places in Fair Lawn, Glen Rock and Ridgewood itself.Avoid!

Will never go back! A very large cocroach was running up the wall and disappeared near the molding. My daughter pointed it out, and when i saw it, I almost threw up all the food we ate. The restaurant is busy and bright, so to see a roach in that atmosphere tells me there must be a major infestation. Seeing the roach made me really scrutinize our surroundings. There is mold around every air vent in the ceiling. There are papers taped to the walls. I'm shocked this place is constantly packed. It does not meet the standards of Ridgewood NJ. They should consider calling an exterminator and do a major face-lift to their restaurant.

Attentive service at this very good BYOB.As for the sushi, it was fresh and very enjoyable. The professional sushi chefs take great care and produce food with pride. Looking forward to returning soon.

My daughter went here the other night and brought back some type of deep fried roll. It was absolutely revolting.Whatever it was stuffed with had a nasty taste of the cheap tuna sold at the supermarket (chunk light or something like that) that had seen better days or even turned.I personally would go catch a fish in the Hackensack and eat it before I would order anything else from this place.

This cute restaurant is not downtown Ridgewood NJ.However it offers superior Japanese fare and is always busy with regulars and locals. The sushi and sashimi selection is great, they also have Udon dishes and appetizers like Yakitori ,as well as Teriyaki plates (chicken, salmon with rice), all very tasty. It can be a bit crowded on the weekends , its a popular place !The inside is a bit on the older side and if you make reservations ask for a booth, better than the tables or eating at the sushi bar (small space). They also have plenty of take-out orders on the week-end, so try to get in before 7:00pm to avoid lines.
