this was my first time at lola’s. i got the birria tacos with rice. the tacos are really yummy, and the rice is too. only thing — it is NOT cheap. i spent $23 on birria tacos and a jarritos. was it delicious? yes. affordable? not so much, esp for a food court food place.

Food was soooooo expensive and worse Mexican food I ever tasted. I guess they charge for the location, scenery since it's by the water but won't be returning. There were 11 of us and not one of us liked the food. We tried lots of different dishes. Nope not coming back.

Lolas catering was amazing. Everyone loved the create your own tacos. The ribs and Mac and cheese were a hit. Would cater from them again.

I love the Lolas on the waterfront restaurant so I had to check out the Rockaway Mall one.Granted it was the middle of the week during the day, but the carne fries weren’t that great. The steak was burnt. I also ordered a side of rice and beans. I didn’t know they actually came with the taco dish. The rice and beans weren’t fully cooked - rice was still a little hard. That being said, the tacos with steak were fantastic! They were beyond perfect.I will definitely come back and try again.Don’t let this post deter you from going, this location recently opened and their restaurant is fabulous on the waterfront! I’m a long time customer.I just wanted to leave feedback to help them succeed in the Rockaway location.

They forgot to put my order in. Waited 20 minutes and went to check. They told the cook and had a laugh about it. Waited another 20 minutes. Food came out, wrong sauce on it. Ate it anyway. Had to tip up front so they got 20% regardless. Pick a different restaurant.

We love Lola's Waterfront so visiting the mall location is a no brainer. I had a quick lunch of Carnitas Nachos and was unfortunately very disappointed. The ratio of chips to topping was fantastic and as good as expected, however the quality of meat was awful. The carnitas topping the nachos was almost entirely the fat cap of the pork. I would expect such a reputable establishment to tighten up their quality.Very unfortunate.- That said, hopefully this feedback is helpful. I'd still try them again.

Sadly I can not recommend this place unless you are seeking their Birria tacos. They are amazing and handled to find. Out side of that I don't think you will walk away happy. I have had the chicken tacos and then went back to see if I would have a better experience with the steak tacos and I was wrong on both accounts. The chicken tacos are not a shredded chicken but rather chicken chunks. This is the first issue. The chunks do not fit in the corn tortillas and should be cut in more of a strip. This would make a big difference alone. Additionally there is very little taste due to a lack of seasoning. So over all a busy. The steak tacos looked better. Had some green sauce on top with onions. Simple just the way they should be. I'd add that they were stuffed with a lot of steak as well. All look promising. The steak was so tough and chewy that I was unable to finish eating them. Additionally they're seemed to be no seasoning of any kind on the steak. Just like the chicken. Lastly I was questioning the freshness of the steak as it had a particular taste that would make you think that. I am in the mall a lot and really want this place to get better. I hope they are able to listen to reviews and make adjustments. The prices are fine and appropriate and the Birria Tacos are very good so they are capable of doing it.

Let me start by saying we love Lola's Waterfront and have eaten there many times. Decided to try the mall location last minute on Cinco De Mayo. Ordered pork carnitas nachos and steak tacos. Both meats were overcooked and tough. Pork was dry and hard. Had to pick it off the nachos to be able to eat them. Definitely seemed like the meat had been reheated rather than cooked somewhat fresh.Daughter enjoyed the cheese quesadilla. French fries weren't bad.Just disappointed in the overall quality for the price.

Located at the Rockaway Townsquare Food Court, Lola's Tex-Mex counter serves up made to order tacos, nachos, quesadillas, chimichangas, enchiladas, burritos, tostadas, bowls, fajitas, burgers, skirt steak, and desserts (churros, flan, tres leches). They are connected with the adjacent Cafelombia counter.I placed an online order for pickup from Lola's recently and ordered the Grilled Chicken Soft Tacos ($12 plus tax) served with Mexican rice and black beans. The place was very busy when I arrived. When they got to my order, I watched the cook prepare the sizzling chicken on the grill, similar to a hibachi grill and make my 3 soft tacos. The grilled chicken soft tacos had tender pieces of grilled chicken, cilantro and onions in warm double wrap corn tortillas and limes and verde sauce on the side. The Mexican rice was cooked firm and not mushy. The black beans were cooked firm too. The flavors of the food were pretty good.
